Besides ordering Encore TFs online, I haven't had much luck finding anything new around here lately. Then, BAM! New wave of Universe 2.0 hits store pegboards.

    So I gots:

    -Silverstreak
    -Sideswipe
    -Cyclonus/Nightstick
    -Hound/Ravage
    -Ironhide

Silverstreak is a great recolor, even if paint apps are too thin on the doors and front pannels. The paint surely isn't as tacky as Prowl, so that's a good thing. Sideswipe is fantastic and I can finally display him with his brother, Sunstreaker. Looks like mine has the common syndrome of the loose door pannel on the right arm and I can't figure out how to disassemble it to add some clear nailpolish or superglue to tighen it up. Minor gripe for an otherwise great mold.

Now my two faves are definitely Hound and Cyclonus. Same pricepoint but with extra bots? Score!! 3-D Ravage is awesome, for the simple fact that he can fit in G1 Soundwave and is, y'know, not 2-D like the original. Hound is beyond awesome, I cannot stop transforming him. Same goes for Cyclonus and his Targetmaster partner, both are amazing fun.

    And then there's Ironhide.

Poor, poor Ironhide. I absolutely hate his vehicle mode with its garish blue windows and diagonal pannel lines. He looks like he was in a terrible accident. Robot mode is a bit better, but that blue face has got to go. Visible screws on the shoulers? Hunched back? Ugh. Luckily, a quick trip to the Radicons forums made me find a thread on minor mods that address poor ole' Ironhides hunched back and sad noggin' looking at the ground. I've done the mods and he certainely does look better, but nowhere near the sheer awesomeness of the 4 above-mentioned bots and cons.

Anyone else want to vent or chime in on these guys?

Hound & Cyclonus have made it up here? Yay!!

I totally agree with everything you said about Ironhide. The poor guy really has nothing going for him. I think they just had a surplus of the Allspark blue paint that they needed to get rid of and Ironhide drew the short straw.

I can't wait to check out Cyclonus though. Off to hunt.

I maintain a theory that Ironhide was originally conceived as a Movie toy before being shoehorned into Universe.

Well kinda. They've been spotted in a handful of Wal-Marts in Canada over in the sightings section at Cybertron.ca, but they seem to only have shipped 2 per case and are hard to find at the moment. Guess we'll have to wait for market penetration in a few months before they become readily available.
That might very well be the case and would certainely explain his different aesthetics.

1st off congrats bro! Didnt know CA wasnt getting 2.0 as quick...

Yea, my Swipe has the loose door too, but thats is so minor compared to having a Streaker and Swipe outta the same mold! Its just pure LOVE how it makes to distinct bots. The fact that the super charger acts as both Streakers (what ever that thing is supposed to be) AND Swipes jet pack is only the icing on the cake! While not very accurate looking, that the hand gun for Streaker can be posted as Swipes shoulder cannon is the cherry on the icing!

Silverstreak: Also, awesome! Finally, the 3 mold-buddies are back in full force! Im still just thankful Hasbro built in the shoulder launchers! Silverstreak has the coolest paint imo, the way the tail lights are painted is nice, the launchers as well.

Hound: Man, what can I say that hasnt already been said... The fact that it comes with 3D Ravage automatically makes this hard to beat for "best in line". Hound by himself is more than awesome. I feel the same way as I do for Classics BB: Definitive. The transformation is fun as hell, the alt and bot modes are perfect, and the dude just exudes character. Bravo to the designer (love the toon-y quality and way way the feet transform exactly the way G1's did... Oh, and accurate Holo Projector on Shoulder? FTW!)

Cyclonus: Also, Bravo to the designer! The figure is VERY accurate in both modes. Im thankful Hasbro said "Hey we can do a simple leg extention but were gonna suprise em all!" and dropped the split leg thing on us! Also, I love the way the head is rervealed and the nose cone disappears in his chest. Also, i like how he's kinda Animated with the exagerated fist/forearms (reminds me of Popeye).

Boy when 2.0 ends, I'll be singing "Meeeemories... of the way we were" lol

I held off on Universe Ironhide for Henkei and I'm very happy with him. Worth the little extra scratch imo

I wish i could find Hound and Ravage where I'm at. All I ever see is Cheetor.

Cyclonus with Nightstick is an awesome fugure. My wife picked it up for me when she was out shopping with her sister. The transform works, and I think the dark purple works better than the show accurate colors of the Henkei verison, IMO.
Classics Ironhide I got as a wedding present from ---The RAt who was one of my groomsmen. Like everyone else has said, the blue paint just doesn't work, and the bot mode does look like it ws made for the movie line. The repain of him as Ratchet looks better.

Oh, I forgot to comment on Ol' Ironhide... Man, I love the old wiper snapper. Though he has his problems, they are very small in my eyes as the amount of WIN over shadows them. I actually REALLY like the design and asthetic of him. The short and stocky Gimli look of his bot mode (and the head looking down thing) was not enough for me to want to mod it... I simply transform him without flipping up the wheels into the back pack, leave his bumper down and point his cod piece down instead of forward... It almost eliminates the head looking down while at the same time adds height to the figure and gives his overall appearance a more rugged/thick knuckled construction worker! Oh also, he has a HEAD! 9silver sharpie take care of that face. royal blue for the windows)

Is Cheetor worth it? I've reduced the size of my collection and sold all of my BW & BM stuff, so I'm kinda iffy on getting Universe Cheetor

He's peg warming here in NY state also.

Some people love him, others hate him. I don't care for his bot mode so I've been passing him up.

Man is Ironhide that bad? I haven't gotten him (was waiting for Ratchet), but you guys are making me second quess on getting him at all. I agree his alt mode totally looks like a jigsaw puzzle but I thought that the robot mode would be its saving grace.

The only Cheetor I own is the McDonald's BM happy meal toy from years ago. I've thought about picking up the Universe one since I see him everywhere, but something tells me to wait, that's he 's not going to be a big seller.

    NO.

I've tried out one that a friend had; it seemed really poor. I had more fun with Ironhide than Cheetor.
