I am waiting for Henkei Cyclonus, but I'm pondering picking up Universe Cyclonus as well. I like the toy accurate deco, and the idea of the Armada.

It occured to me I could give the Hasbro Nightstick to Hot Rod to use as Firebolt, and give the Rodimus gun to the Universe toy. Would anyone who has both let me know if the weapons are swappable?

    Thanks. :)

Hotrod's weapon looks like a flamethrower. Also Nightstick's gun mode looks hella different from Firebolt. However when looking at Nightstick if you removed his barrel he'd probably work. You would need to change the colors a bit tho.

PS: I just tried to have Hotrod hold 2.0 Nightstick. Nightstick's handle is too large and would have to be filed down. I'd say bore Hotrod's hands, but there's not much room to work with on him.

I don't think the question was about one passing off as another, so much as does Nightstick fit with Hotrod's hand.

Actually way ahead of you on this. I already put night stick with Hot Rod. HOWEVER the post for night stick (his gun grip) is TOO thick. so I widened the hole in Hot Rod's fist so it could fit. You can flip hot rod's wings over the roof and gently plug nightstick into the hole (where HR's normal gun goes) so he gets a roof mounted gun.

Classics Hot Rod's hands are sized to hold the original G1 figure's guns, not the larger peg that the Targetmasters and most standard TF weapons use. You'd either have to enlarge the fist hole or shave down the TM's peg.

This is an awesome idea tho. Suddenly Im finding myself wanting to kitbash old Starcom figures into Targetmasters. I think Im gonna try to remake the old double-gun Targetmasters. Thanks for the inspiration, fosterlager! If I had a few cases of your namesake I'd be done already.

I think starcom figures are too big. But then again its not like a diaclone driver can fit into hotrod. but someone did fit a diaclone driver into the Prowl/Silverstreak mold.

I've got this same idea, just not for Hot Rod. I'm going to bash my second Uni. Cyclonus into someone else with Nightstick being their TargetMaster.

I'm not going to spill who I'm making them into just yet though.

I'm not worried about them fitting inside. Besides; scale-wise Nightstick is too big for Cyclonus. There's no way he'd fit inside of that cockpit. Put Nightstick next to classics Hotrod and he's to scale. Then again going off of vehicle mode alone Cyclonus and guys like Octane (Tankor...spfft!) are to scale only with micromasters. I dunno what figures I'll use as a base..Starcom or MASK probaly, unless I can find some old Actionfleet figures and make uber-tiny targetmasters from em.

Oh yeah - the action fleet figures are the same size Diaclone drives for anyone interested.

Which was designed to have a diaclone pilot, so that's hardly shocking.

Also all the G1 targetmasters were not scaled to have them fit into their partners alt mode. They were designed to be gun turrets for them nothing else.

Shame about the fist holes on Rodimus, but thanks for the other ideas!
