Just as an addendum to my last post, Encore would be even more awesome if they released some Headmaster reissues or a Dai Atlas.

    How awesome would that be?

Encore released Sky Lynx. A TF that I have wanted ever since I first saw him on TV as a kid, but never was able to get.

Encore wins in my books. Though Hasbro re-issued Powermaster Prime. My original Powermaster Prime was my very first Transformer. It's nice to have my original, in played with condition, as well as a very nice minty new one (with the bonus apex armor to boot!)

Whatever line dares to re-issue combiners and/or Fort Max will ultimately be the winner though.

The Encore series will impress me the day it will include real gems like Victory Leo, Star Saber, Road Caesar, Overlord or Liokaiser. So far, it's only about figures that can easily be found on Ebay. Boring.

I am surprised that some one earlier in the thread complained about the quality of the plastic used in Encore - maybe you just got some bad apples, 'cause mine are all perfect :thumbs2:
In fact, I had more issues with the TFC reissues. Remember Jazz? Yeah, el-wobbly dobbly Transformer? (luckily fixed for the Encore reissue).

Anyway, yep, I love Encore. Glad the release schedule is pretty consistent as well. I did love TFC, esp. the packaging and choices, but am quite happy with Encore too. In fact, despite having reissues from previous lines such as TFC, I'd still be happy if Encore re-re-issued them for two reasons:
    1) Many of them have gone crazy prices e.g. Insecticons.
    2) Encore could become the "definitive" reissue line.

As for the TRU Commemoratives - OK if you're not bothered with accuracy, but they made too many compromises with the moulds IMO e.g. smokestacks, ludicrous-sized missile for Jazz and the Seekers etc etc.

    Encore rocks! It ROCKS!

I got into the reissue game kinda late and missed the TFC and Hasbro reissues, so I really can't compare. The few Encores I have picked up have been awesome. It's like experiencing those great G1 childhood moments all over again.

Don't forget the non-chromed parts, like the Prowl, Bluestreak, Smokescreen weapons and missles. Lame. TFC was much much better.

The encore line has the original box art but has the japanese writing. I prefer the look of the encore over the TFC or the Commemorative series.

I love the Encore line! Long live G1!

Weren't Omega Supreme and Sky Linx made by the same company who made Shockwave? If so, is there a chance we might see our beloved purple cyclops as an Encore reissue?

Omega and Sky Lynx were from Toy Box and Shockwave was from Toy Co, but Shockwave was released in Japan during G1.

My biggest gripe with Encore is the quality. Sky Lynx came out okay but Metroplex is riddled with cheap plastic and loose joints; even after tightening them. The cheap plastic is almost to be expected these days and isn't unique to Encore when it comes to Transformer reissues but the contrast in quality with the originals or even other reissues is sometimes stark. My minibot set was embarrassingly bad and paled in quality to the TFC set. And I'm not a fan of tampo'ed graphics whatsoever. Such a turn-off.

So for me, Encore has some great selection but I'm very hesitant to buy them. :banghead:

Encore is one of the top and best lines of course!
