Removing "No Step" markings from MP Skywarp or Thundercracker?

The more I look the less I like the white no-steps everywhere on my MP TC. The white is just too obvious, not nearly as subtle as the black-on-grey of MP SS. My question is---will rubbing alcohol remove the glossy clearcoat on SW and TC? SS doesn't have that problem, he's just "bare" plastic AFAIK. But I don't want to try removing the printed no-steps, only to find that the gloss-coat was removed too, it'd ruin the look. There's nowhere really to "experiment" either--every place with printed markings is highly visible.

In customizing, I've had luck with nail polish remover on a Q-tip. The Q-tip acts like a sponge, so not alot of nail polish remover can get on the actual plastic and you can use it to rub off finer details because of the smaller size. It also doesn't "burn" through plastic, if you're careful.

Although, I've had no experience working on the area that you are describing.
