Bought sentinel today, so excited, but something felt wrong with the box. Got it home, transformed it a a couple times, until I noticed something. The ears looked a little bendy (the one did right out of the package, but I thought nothing of it.) and the moment I touched them, they broke off. Taking a look at them, the plastic was REALLY stressed. Then, when I got the package ready to take it back (ill do it tomorrow), I noticed the instructions (usually just ignore them) were ripped. Wtf? Also, it and that little paper advertising other toys were just thrown in the packaging. The twist ties were a little loose, too.

Thats the price you pay for being able to return anything at no cost to Wal-Mart. Its a Blessing and a Curse all rolled in one.

Same with Target and Toys R' Us.

It's great that they offer full refunds on returns for 90 days... opened or not...

    Returns is not a problem.

Returns and the employees who don't bother to take the extra minute to check if the package has been tampered with is a problem.

Yes i think it is the employee's/ managers fault. Whenever I return a toy I tell them its no good, and some of them just don't care.

Too true. I returned a Universe Onslaught to my local Target because of a stripped piece on his leg. Lo' and behold... he was out on the shelf a few days later. And then again after something was said. Finally taken off the shelf after fellow board member Lumpy complained.

    NemesisBruticus I feel your pain bro ; ;

I bought Classics 2.0 Blaster got him home and opened him and he had no instructions? WTF? and when I went to transform him, the tabs that lock his arms inplace were stressed and busted off when I went to lock them in place.

Now either that was a return or just a cheap POS!

I shoulda sensed something cause the box was rough but its walmart so eh. Gonna return him Monday and not get another...eh hes not a good homage to Blaster anyhow.

I assumed he would be a good figure cause I love the 2.0 Blades. NOT TRUE.

    B.S Discount

The worst example is when a figure gets put back on the shelf with damaged packaging or missing pieces or instructions and the only discount you get is 10% off.WTF???I understand that chain stores are there to make money but if merchandise is damaged, either take it off the shelf or give put a DECENT discount on it!!I dont think the corporation is going to go bankrupt because a toy got marked down to half the price.

the problem is the inconvenience of buying a pre opened item and having to take it back, hopefully you did take it back and used the cause of the issue as its solution.

This type of thing is hardly suprising, store workers dont give toys any more importance than say a returned pack of paper cups. Id rather keep the returns policy and just double check on any toys i buy for any tampering.

i dont have a problem with people returning stuff they dont like or find suitable (eg, imagine a mum finds that that TF really is too difficult for her 6 year old to manage despite the 5 years suitability) but that should not be again offered to customers apart from a bargain 'seconds' bin. The purchase/return is a transaction between the store and an individual and nobody else.

If returns dont affect future customers i dont see the issue.

I find something opened or mangled packaging they better give a better discount.

TIP: At walmart they have the customer satisfaction guarantee, threaten if you aren't happy to call the store manager, then escalate to district, then regional, ect....it gets results quick. Got a $50 gift card and 30% off a game I ordered site to store when they screwed it up.

I remember seeing a deluxe at target whose package looked like someone literally ran over with it in a truck (toy was fine). Hell, the toy bearly had any space. Its long gone now (maybe someone complained?) Ironically, it was final battle jazz. :lol

Thankfully, My Sentinal had no QC problems at all. Usualy I get really bad piant aps, but luck was on my side I guess.

The worst it's ever gotten for me was when 1 of my micromaster constructicons was missing his arms.(forgot who, he formed the chest) I just went back and got a new one.

If you complain to management at wal-mart you usually end up getting a gift card. Wal-mart will almost never give you a discount on a damaged toy because they are supposed to send it back and get money, some employees are to lazy to fill out the slip to do this. Now I think everybody should be able to return opened toys. About a month ago when I got my animated sentinal, nothing wrong with the packaging, the chest was sctracthed very badly. Was able to swap it at KB Toys and they didn't put it back on the shelf.

As much as I agree with how messed-up it is that these places return damaged goods to the shelf, I have to step in and be the voice of reason.

There's a very distinct reason that these large companies don't give a "good" discount on damaged goods. The reality is this: In an industry with a multi-billion dollar shrink problem; of which over 90% of the problem is internal(i.e. employee theft), having a low discount on damaged goods is an incentive for folks to NOT buy damaged goods. Think of what happens if you made them, say, 75% off. Suddenly you create a culture where people LOOK FOR damaged goods on the shelf, or worse yet, damage it themselves to get a cheaper rate on a high-priced item.

I agree with you on the point you made but if this is a problem for a chain store company, why put damaged goods on the shelves at all?I used to work for one and I know for a fact that anything that gets shipped back to the company it came from gives credit to the store so they dont lose money on a sale.Part of my job was setting up the discount aisle and I cant count how many times people complained about the so-called "discount" prices. There were also customers who used to check there everyday because they couldnt afford the retail prices and wanted to buy they're kid a toy.
