The first time I tried transforming City Commander, his right fist was incredibly stiff, like it had been superglued into position. After a bit of brute strength, I managed to rotate it... and take off a large chunk of white paint on his wrist. Now City Commander has a permanent blue ring on his right wrist where the paint was scratched off. Does anyone have similar problems, or did I just luck out?
Only issue I have with mine is that his head is very stiff. I'm afraid to apply the pressure required to turn his head, so he will always be looking forward.
My fists were pretty stuck in place. So much so that I didn't want to risk turning them, thinking they were permenantly stuck that way. Seeing review images online, I realized you could turn them afterall and gave each a hard twist to break them free. Luckily, nothing broke and no paint scratched or came off on mine.
There are several reports of QC problems with the set. Two reports of the head snapping off so far. I'm very, very glad I didn't spend the money on it now. I'd be having a nervous breakdown. But then again, I get really sensitive about my stuff. lol
Where did you hear about heads breaking off? Every thread/post I read no one had any issues with the exception of the fists being really stuff, and people not pushing hard enough on the belt and windvayne to snap them in place. I've got one and it's great, and I feel that is was worth the money. Also FYI I transform mine all the time.
City Commander, head broke off - Google Search View topic - BIG PROBLEM: Fansproject ultra magnus decapitation <---Third link down in the search results.
Well you missed out on a Great Figure Enhancement. Those problems are Far Few and In between. Thats like saying well 20 of the 2000 units are faulty so I wont get one. Everything made has QC Problems some are big but most are Minuscule. If you compair the Compliments to the Complaints the Compliments will out number the Complaints 100 to 1. EDIT: Mine is fine not 1 problem and he looks Awesome in my Classics Line the way he was always ment to be.
Oh I had no intention of buying it anyway. I don't really collect Classics, save for a few figures. (I have five total.) I'm happier now that I didn't buy it because I'd be pissed after all of that waiting and all of that money. The Prime/Magnus mold ranked really low on my list of figures.
The fists on mine are stiff, but yeah, other than that no problems. They're aware of that and are fixing it for Shadow Commander and (hopefully) an eventual release for Powered Commander. Head's intact, parts grip the toy fine, just wish the legs went on easier.
I never intended on transforming mine at all. I put Magnus in his armor and put him on a shelf. I bought the set purely as a display piece. Like I had said before, I love mine. It looks great. Its head is just very stiff so I don't want to move it. I just don't want to take the risk.
The left fist on my set was quite thoroughly glued/fused into place, so much that no amount of force I could apply to it had any effect. So BBTS mailed me a new left arm piece. It's perfect now.
My City Commander set is perfect. No problems with the fists, no problem with the head, just pure awesomeness.
I had relatively tight fist but no different then you might get in a Hasbro product. The revolving license plate on mine was stuck in pretty good and took me a few minutes to get it loose. Legs weren't a big deal for me at all, tight fit but in the good way
Part of mine broke. The part where the chest flips open, the little hinge on one side snapped off. looks like it was superglued there but wouldn't turn along with the other side and ended up snapping. I emailed BBTS hopefully they can replace it.
