How long before we see Henkei/Takara-tomy TF Animated. I think it would be awesome if Takara re-did some of the paint schemes on the Animated figures. Also, I'd be excited to see some of them in G1-esque repaints or with some colored chrome on them. What do you think? Will we ever see these? If so, would you be excited to see them and/or buy them?
I'm not sure if it's been aired in japan yet, but I'm sure I remember seeing somewhere that it would be. I may be on a complete wrong 'un, though. But even if they do, what are they gonna do to the figures to make them more show-accurate?
They might not make them more show-accurate but, they could add some more detail and take away the need for reprolabels. I could also see them fixing the problem with the faction symbols and possibly adding more vibrant paint colors or doing G1 repaints on some of the figures like Starscream or Grimlock. I'd also like to see some colored chrome on some of them. How cool would Animated Grimlock be with a G1-esque paint scheme and chrome dino arms and toes and chrome chest in robot mode just like the G1 original?
You know, I was just about to ask this question. I wonder how style of Animated will go down with Japanese audiences. It was clearly designed for Western viewers. Then again, I remember Tiny Toons and Animaniacs being popular in Japan back in the day, so Animated may yet be a hit there. I'm eager to see Takara's take on the toys. More random chrome?
Hasn't aired in Japan yet. It seems they are waiting for a full japanese episode run (they don't run 13 episode seasons in Japan).
... another 26 episodes. Japan likes full-year series/seasons when they can get 'em. There's exceptions of course, but Transformers in Japan has often been most successful when using a more 'western' sensibility, perhaps because regular Japanese anime TF series start blending in more with all the other mecha-toy anime out there. Dunno quite what to expect for Animated in Japan, as Transformers has been a lot more collector-centered since Tomy started calling the shots. I think TFA will eventually come to Japan, as "Transformers: Super Sari Key Force" or some such. The toys will be released with some extra paint apps and color tweaks to make them more show-accurate (similar to what several folks around here have already done). It might even be surprisingly succesful, given the novel approach to robot/mecha shows, though the Japanese will probably complain about how horrendous the dub is.
Takara does things a bit...well they haven't dub a series eclusing the film since the merger woth Tomy. I hope the guy who voices Master Megatron in Galaxy force/Cybertron does the voice of Animated Megatron. I have a feeling that the actress who voices blackwidow/blackarchinda in Beast Wars will be Animated Blackarchinda.she shounds hot and is hot.
I seriously doubt that Takara would add chrome parts like in Henkei, it wouldn't fit with the style of the toys. They might add chrome paint ala Beast Wars but that would be it. I think they would try to give them more show accurate paint apps like they did for Beast Machines. Hell they might even use better plastics. I would wish they would make some, cos they would be a little cheaper for me.
