Novastar finally showed up, so now Elita Inf1nte is really done.

 

Got the Lost Planet diaclone KO mech suit. Repurposing it as a modern Spike and his exosuit!

 

Found these 2 wild at Wal-Mart, but could only pick one. So Screamer gets to hang with Megatron and my G1 Jetfire... maybe Soundwave will protect him.

 

My Large Boy arrived today.



He's extremely good! He looks like he should, by all rights, be frustrating to transform, but he's good. The legs are a joy, and the waist up is a little fiddly, but not nightmarish.

Bit the bullet on Novastar. I was going to wait for her to show up locally but we just got hammered with a foot of snow, so no motorcycle hunting excursions until this hopefully melts off. But the forecast is pure shit, and I’d spend as much in time and gas searching as the shipping cost so fuck it, my POTP collection is essentially done.

It was the Prime mug that forced my hand though, gotta have it!

Picked up the new Soundwave and Doom box Target-exclusive on the way home today.

 

Aside from UW Megatronia and PotP Nemesis Prime, I recently discovered a fairly new hobby shop that opened near me. After going on an exploratory first visit just to browse, I came out with these;

I thought to ask and the owner/manager said he happened to have one in his office that hadn't been put out yet


They also had a few sections and bins of straight up knock-offs, this was too cute to resist. Legends scale Star Saber and Victory Leo


All in all, not a bad haul. I went into this place just to see if they had any sort of TF selection, and about a third of the store was Transformer nirvana. They didn't have everything, but they a had a little of everything. They also had a decent selection of 3P stuff. SDCC PotP Throne of the Primes was in my hand, but I decided to pass for now, they were asking too much. I'll probably go back soon to pick up their Energon Omega Sentinel though.

And hey I got a 15% off first time customer discount, so the damage to my wallet wasn't too bad. I found my new favorite place.

I also have to kick myself, because they host special events and panels occasionally, and I missed out on the chance to meet Gregg Berger in person a few months back. Friggin' Grimlock was just a few blocks away, but I was completely oblivious. Another one was having the creator of Netflix's The Toys That Made Us.

Oh right, it's called Toy-Zilla. The owner/manager is also a TF nerd, so we had a good convo, and is also evidently the reason for such an abundant selection. But that's not all, roughly half the store contained other Japanese robo mecha stuff and related paraphernalia. Super Sentai/Power Rangers, Voltron, Gundam, Macross/Robotech, Mazinger, etc. I didn't notice, but next time I have to ask if they have any Machine Robo/GoBots. I wouldn't mind having that latest MP style Cykill.

Another thing I almost grabbed was one of the 3P Seeker tetra jets, but they didn't have the Starscream one.



They also had Greg Berg attend recently. He uh, he voiced Igor in Dark of the Moon, but you can see some of his other classic work represented in front of him.

*Googles* Ah, the Toy Hell guy. David Kolodny-Nagy. Man, there's a name I haven't heard in many a moon. I certainly hope he's gotten his issues fixed. Back when he ran Toy Hell, he was working in the film industry and was away from the site for extended periods of time. If you ordered, it could sometimes be MONTHS before he could even get back to you, let alone actually ship your order out. I do hope this new business functions better and succeeds.

 

PotP Moonracer. My first female transformer. Always wanted a G1 style Arcee or Robots in Disguise Arcee. Unfortunately, my funds keep her out of my reach.

 

Picked up Devastator! Found him randomly at a Walmart that showed 0 available!
