It's true, Im not forced to buy them, but I would like more original molds to add to my collection.

Like I said, I know there are probably more original molds than there are repaints, and its probably in my mind, but I don't know.

I think the repaints are a good idea with some potential drawbacks. I think they're good because people (like me) get a shot at cool molds they missed (cyb Evac) and Hasbro can make more money without making new molds. The potential downside is what we're seeing with Blaster and Springer, where the repaint isn't close enough to the original character for some people and it decreases the chances of an original mold of that character. As many people have pointed out, you don't have to buy repaints OR consider them classics. Personally, I do both. I just bought Blades, Acid Storm(x2), and Heavy Load today. Blades will join my classics collection until I get Springer, then the one of them that better fits will stay and Heavy Load will be joining my Decepticons as Mixmaster. I could have gotten Blaster or Drop Shot, but I don't think Blaster would match up well with the Tit. Soundwave I'm going to use as Classics S-wave and Drop shot doesn't remind me enough of anyone to get him.

This. I'll be the first to say that I'm not a huge fan of repaints for the most part, but I like the idea of being able to get molds that I may have missed in the past. Cybertron Evac(Universe Blades) and Cybertron Defense Scattershot(Universe Dropshot) are the two that I have picked up and the only two that I'm interested in as far as the "Classics Repaints" go, but I was so glad to see them because the just didn't show up in my area during their original releases.

On the flip side, I too would like to see the line separated into true "Classics" with new molds and use the "Universe" title exclusively for repaints as it has been used in the past.

I know they're saving money by doing this, but I think they should have a Universe(Like the old Universe) and a Classics(Like the old Classics) as 2 different lines. I dont know why but it bugs me, because Id rather see more new toys, like Tankor, Onslaught, and Silverbolt, than all the repaints, Like Sprimger, Blades, and Roadbuster.

Anyone agree? Or am I just stupid?

I rather like Roadbuster(he was going to be my springer, but now I think I'm just going to rename him Hardhead), since i never got that mold, and there have been many molds over the years that can fit in seemlessly as well. For shelf space this is probably the smartest thing they've done in awhile. They can keep shelves stocked with TF Toys at a nice cost variation and ratio of figs, while still feeding in new molds to add to the repaint/remold cycle. I just wish some of the repaints had a little bit more retooling to them, but I can deal without new heads for most. So long as they give us a brawn with correct head.

We've got E-Downshift still who would make an awesome Wheeljack. Or even Overhaul from cybertron with a new head and no claws that could make a decent Brawn.
Now some of their actual choices though do underwhelm me some. If we don't get a real springer because of the con and two pack one, I'm not going to be too happy. But otherwise, they've made some pretty decent choices so far for characters without a cartoon currently on air. Ultracon ratbat for instance is pretty sweet. Though I still hope a soundwave with cassette style one is made eventually. Also, why no Coby Rumble (the one with a more G1 like head http://www.seibertron.com/transforme...mble/922/1/63/ ) repaints of frenzy and rumble? =( Or even http://www.seibertron.com/transforme...gnus/363/1/29/ would work for me in a two pack, better than this helicopter springer will. Or even a E Scorponok repaint in G1 styling. Repaints can work, they just take some good thought into them first. Some of the ones we're getting are only half and half on that.

Repaints don't bug me, I just don't think they are taking advantage of this as well as they should be, or can as of yet.

That and the line just started like a month ago and we're only fringing upon Wave 2 this past week or so. Give it time, Hasbro will deliver fine, it IS the 25th anniversary next year after all.

Well technicly, classics 2.0 is a repaint heavy line. Rainmakers, Silverstreak, Sideswipe, Ratchet (if they ever get around to him!) Red Alert (Him too!). So far, honestly the only new molds are Prowl, Ironhide, Sunstreaker, galvatron, and tankor. But they've adhered pretty well to the oldschool repaint flavor of G1 that happened in show so it's working phenominally well. And they thought ahead with the shoulder canons, and various modes for sunstreaker/sideswipe too. Well I'm not counting the upcoming 25th annie figs though either. Even the Ultra's each have a opposite side variant, barring two, Onslaught and silverbolt.

I cant stand repaints unless they were like that originally (Cliffjumper/Bumblebee etc.)

I just figure I wont buy any Universe Voyagers and my classics collection will only contain true classics.

I am like the rest, I dont mind the repaints being out there for other people to buy (I just will pass on them) but I hope that doesnt mean we will never see a real classic figure for Blaster, Springer, etc...

Yeah, I don't mind repaints - provided they are original characters like the original seekers etc. I also don't mind repaints provided they make the original mould look better such as a "black" Prime repaint.
