hey guys..
ive practically just started collecting TF about 2 months back..im done with the movie line and the animated line (got all the figures i want from those lines)...
i thought of going directly into Masterpiece figures, but ive heard that some Universe figures are really good..especially sunstreaker and prowl..so im definitely getting those two...but my question is..wat other figures are already available..and which of those are really good too? im looking for as many opinions as i can get, before i dump cash on these   ive already spent a ton on my collection....so if someone can list as many Universe figures that are available, and then suggest which ones are best, let me know... thanks!

oh, and also...im not sure about ultra class..are these figures larger than voyager? thanks  

 

Prowl is a hit or miss at times when hunting for him....his paint applications are sometimes not very good...so you will have really look at the ones in a store to determine the QC of the paint applications. He also tends to get sticky doors. Sunstreaker can have some QC issues. Tankor/Octane is pretty good in my opinion. There are several waves coming up and with these, it can be tough how good they are. However, from looking at the first wave, the next waves...you might still have really look at the paint applications. There are several threads about the first wave figures.

wave 2: Acid Storm (Starscream repaint in army colors) and Galvatron as a tank.
wave 3: Sideswipe, Bluestreak/Silverstreak, Ironhide

In terms of the first release of Universe figures, I do not know about them. The ones that I mentioned are in the Classics 2.0/Universe line.

 

thanks..im also talking about classics 2.0/universe. only wave 1 is released at the moment, right? so there are the 3 deluxes, 2 voyagers and 2 ultras? am i right?
also, ultra class is the highest price point, isnt it? higher than voyager and deluxe? yeah, im new lol...animated and movie lines didnt have ultra class, i think...so pardon me   i'll do my best to check out the QC on prowl n sunstreaker..i'll probably get all 3 deluxes..keep the input coming in, please..thanks

 

Supreme is the highest price point.

 

Basically, Dleuxe are about $10, Voyagers are $20 and the Ultras are about $4 to $5 over that, due to the lights and sound. The Ultras are afew inches bigger then the voyagers, but nothing drastic. Most people are satified with them so they're worth it.

 

I only have Sunsstreaker, Prowl and Tankor (aka, Octane) and all three are really fantastic. I don't have Onslaught or Powerglide yet, but they look pretty awesome.

 

All I have is Prowl and Tankor, cuz thats all my store had...

 

I have all of them except for the New Voyagers.

Sunstreaker, Tankor, Brawl and Powerglide are must buys.

Prowl is a must buy in person. Paints apps are hit or miss with this guy and it took me awhile to find a decent one and then I still had to mix and match between two to get the perfect one.

Acid Storm and Galvatron are on the way but they are must buys most likely also.

If your picking up this line you might as well get some of the classics 1.0 line too.

Make sure to pick up Megs, Astrotrain, starscream, mirage and Optimus henkei instead of their hasbro counterparts. IMO they are much better.

 

The voyagers in Universe are all old molds repainted to pad out the line. You won't really miss much if you skip them.

Most Classics (Universe) are done very well. Cant think of any I dont like. Except for Grimlock's dino mouth feet, didnt like that  

If your a G1 fan, it would be my most recommended series to dive into.

Cybertron/Galaxy Force also had some great ones that could be mixed into the Classics pretty well

thanks for all the input...yeah, this looks like a great line...i think i'll skip the voyagers, as theyre just repaints..i saw em and didnt really like em..   sorry blades..

however, i'll definitely get the 3 deluxes, and maybe the onslaught/powerglide, once i can afford em..

i was also thinking of getting some of the classics 1.0 or henkei if possible..cheers  
btw, those cant be bought in stores anymore, right? possibly only on ebay?

 

oh and also...i know that blaster is a repaint of soundwave, and heavyload is a repaint of quickmix...wat about blades? im guessing he's a repaint too? fill me in please!

 

yup, best bet on classics 1.0 is ebay. as far as classics henkei goes, most internet retailers (bbts, tfsource, etc.) have them.
