exactly.
Honestly: for me: NO AC=no toys. |

First off, is it a 1 car garage or a 2 car garage? How tall is it?
Here's what you need to make it a true man cave:
Pool Table, nothings funner than a good game of pool.
Fridge or min fridge, preferably with a freezer unit.
Gas grill, nothing says I'm a man like a stack of ribs with a side of steak.
Sofa, your guests have asses for a reason, let them use them.
Recliner, your throne, your command chair whatever you wanna call it make sure it's nice and comfy.
Remote control, this is your scepter.
TV, you're window to the things that amuse you.
Shelves, for your many, many, manly TFs.
A/C, keep your cave chilled and your nipples rock hard.
Cordless phone, sure you may not wanna be disturbed during the big game but it's great for getting pizza with. My Feedback LOOKING FOR SOME DEDICATED ARTISTS AND WRITERS TO VOLUNTEER FOR A FAN MADE COMIC SERIES. PLEASE PM ME IF YOU'RE WILLING TO HELP |

Insulation and dry walls.
A/C Unit (cut that wall)
Ceiling Fan
Regular Size Fridge with purified water and ice maker attached.
Recliner
Flatscreen TV to maximize the space

Pool table and fridge? Are you going to pay for it? Seriously...pool is just not my thing. I'm no good at it outside of Wii Play, and it just seems like an expensive waste of space.
The grill is around back.
Got our old sofa (with fold-out bed! never slept on!) and love seat out there now.
Who said anything about guests? I don't like people when I have to actually share space with them. That's why I put the sofas in the garage...to be able to escape the wife and kids on occasion.
As soon as we get the flatscreen for the living room, the TV and remote is a check. TF shelves...yes, please.
A/C...I wish.
Phone? NO THANKS. I hate the telephone. It rings. And then people want to talk to me.
Seriously, I'd be happy with the following:
Sofas: check
TV/DVD player: soon
Stereo: not necessary...CD's will work fine in DVD player.
A nice reading lamp: Got some extras if I can keep them out of the yard sale.
Bookshelf: check
Laptop: check, although it belongs to the school (I'm a teacher)
A/C: again, I wish.
Lots of shelves: again, yes please
Some tables for playing with TFs: that'd be nice, or at least...
lots of smooth, clean concrete: check
I really have very minimalist desires for this little space of mine. My biggest obstacle is the heat. With the ceiling fan and the garage door open, it wouldn't be too bad, but if I've got 500+ Transformers on shelves out there, the bastard neighborhood kids'll be all up in my bidness...wanting to touch stuff.

Seriously, I understand the need for the space, but if your collection is exposed to those conditions, I don't think the results will please you.
Maybe a few for display, but keep G1, or any die cast out of there, trust me. Rust will eventually form - may take years but it will happen at high humidity.
I have been to Florida many times, and I don't ever remember it being not humid. Not knocking Florida, I go there on vacation all the time, but those toys won't like it in the long run.
Maybe you can start a jar to save for a/c? $20 a week, or even $10, something.
Than you can really go nuts |

It's what I did when I turned my garage into my mancave. I also installed a gas heater for the winter. Kicks ass out here now. Also, if you have a garage door opener, unplug it so accidents don't open your door exposing your goodness to the world. |

Also, don't forget that prolonged exposure to heat will cause plastics to dry out and become brittle. I've lived in Orlando my whole life and I know what kind of heat you're dealing with. Haven't you ever seen a car around here with cracks in the dashboard from the heat? If you can't insulate and cool your garage I wouldn't store your toys out there. |
