So, given that silverbolt and onslaught are being released, I'm wondering if the rest of the groups will be released to make superion and bruticus? If the design of the team leaders is any indication, the gestalt form should look pretty cool. Any body here anything about it?

As of now there are no plans to make Silverbolt or Onslaught into combiners.

I would like to see it, but I doubt they will happen

More of the team might see a release but they will not combine.

    Like he said.

I wish they would make a combiner though. They were always my favorite things in the G1 line. Given which combiner parts have been made already and have been said won't be made in to a combiner, my vote is for Menasor or Computron to be made.

it just makes no sense to make onslaught and silverbolt into figures and not have them be combiners. just ridiculous imo.

That would be totally sick. For years I've been wishing for a new BIG combiner team. Now, picture this: the Ultra sized Silverbolt joined by 4 other deluxes Jets as limbs. That would make my year for sure.

Unfortunately, I do agree that it is unlikely to happen. We would already know by now I guess.

I know everybody's been saying that it'll never happen but I've been wondering the same thing. I thought I saw pics of an Energon Aerialbot repaint slated for release in the new Universe line, and then after seening Silverbolt pics it got me wondering. I don't think it would be as expensive to engineer a combiner if they didn't have to do the whole team maybe just 2 or 3 of them and use some of the Energon molds to fill in.

    dunno, guess we'll see hu?

    On the note of combiners...

At TFCon, that question was asked. And they didn't give the standard "We can't give an absolute no as you never know" style response.

    They said possibly.

I think the movie scout line is going to see the energon combiner limp repaints.

Now I'd be perfectly happy with G1 repaints of Bruticus and Superion Maximus. I'd prefer them with new combined heads, and real hands and feet. Although in SM case I don't know if that's possible.

I've also had this idea about making Menasor out of the leader class Optimus from Cybertron and slightly retooled classics cars (Rodimus=Deadend, Sunstreaker=Brakedown, Prowl=Wildrider, Mirage=Dragstrip). Optimus would need some retooling though. New head, with a Menasor head that fits over a Motormaster like head. His back pack remade to look like a container trailer and so on. Might just be possible

Making 2 new "scout" limbs per team I think would be great, though it seems so many people detest the Energon molds. And that would still require some investment in the new molds.

I think a Classics Bruticus could be done fairly easily, by Hasbro or even by the club.

-Obvious repaint of Stormcloud/Blackout into Vortex

-Obvious repaint of Blight/Kickback into Brawl

-Repaint of Barricade into Onslaught, but since Barricade is already pretty close to G1 Onslaught colors I'd repaint him in mostly gray/off-white in an effort to both give him a new look and have him match Bruticus's combined form colors from the show.

-Swindle could be made from Duststorm/Wideload, just mold a new extending crane arm piece with a cannon barrel on the end. Perhaps even mold a new rocket to attach over the spark crystal port on the crane arm.

-Blast-off could then be made from the A-10 mold, since it has no molded Autobot symbol, that re-molding doesn't need to be a concern. Instead mold a new accessory piece that could serve 2 purposes.

It'd be a swept/delta wing add-on piece to attach to Blast-off by the holes under the A-10's regular wings so that could give him a bit of a space-shuttle-shape.

Secondly it could serve as a chest plate for the combined form. Bruticus's show colors had the chest plate in Blast-off colors so the colors would be fine. Plus one thing that I didn't like about Energon Bruticus was the awkward, hugely protruding chest. So I usually form him by turning the head and waist 180 degrees, using the "back"/Barricade's chest as Bruticus's chest. Adding the chest plate to that would be perfect and there's a perfect place to attach it too: the powerlinx peg and hole on Barricade's shoulders that are on Bruticus's "back".

I think this is all very reasonable and possible remolding that even the club could handle, no complicated remolding involving new joints/new engineering. Stuff that complicated just seems like a new mold from scratch would be the better way to go.

Here's how I normally form Energon Bruticus:

It would be awesome, but it's no biggy, imo, if we don't get one. As for the Ultra class figures not combining, I have no problem with that. I'd rather have an awesome toy of one character than a toy with limitations because the forced in the combining gimmick. If they do make a new mold Gestalt, I hope it's Computron. I wouldn't mind a repaint of the other two Energon Gestalts, though. The three unique molds per team doesn't bother me, and I honestly don't see why it bothers so many people.

I think they are trying to put combiners into the 25th anniversary line. I want to se Predaking and Defensor or Computron.

I agree - I'm willing to bet that we'll get a new combiner of some sort next year as part of the 25th.

It definately would not be out of the question to have the combiner parts come with the limbs and make it possible to attach to Silverbolt and Onslaught. That way they would not have to retool either. It is within their power to do this, they just choose not to. I don't understand. Take a poll and see who all would want combiners. I bet you would have a pretty long list..... A long list of people with money. (Listen up Hasbro)
Oh, and if per chance you do that you gotta make a giftset!!!!

The giftset and the distribution is the problem that Hasbro is seeing. Its hard for them since Unicron to sell $50 plus toys (Unicron went for 9 bucks at one point) so they arent going to do giftsets. Second with the whole Energon combiner distribution disaster with people stuck with only two of the four limbs for months has hindered them doing a straight release through waves. I dunno. I thought they could do it like Marvel legends. Dedicated whole waves to combiner teams. Make vs packs with for example, a Technobot vs a Predacon.

Well if it's about distribution package them equally if possible. I understand that the larger core bot would be in a separate assortment and would probably cause some problems. As for giftsets, I do remember the classic Devastator giftset on clearance at Walmart so you might be right there. Still I can dream can't I.

Trust me Megamus Im dreaming with u man! You dont know how excited I was when Energon revealed combiners! I hope we can get atleast one combiner out of the 25th ann line. Predaking must happened. I hope we can even the odds and get an Autobot one too. Defensor or Computron dammit.

Now would be cost effective is to simply retool Silverbolt and Onslaught to make them combine with deluxe size counterparts.

there's no might or just in there man, I made one just last year. course, there wasn't a prowl or sunstreaker available yet. (though I admit that I plan to look into whether they'd improve things any)
