do you think it would be just shockwave by himself and one mode, or would it be a quad-changer, and change from longarm prime, to his alt mode, then another robot mode (shockwave) and his other alt mode?

 

I like the idea with Shockwave/Longarm Prime.

Shockwave is a H-Tank (like armada Megatron)
While Longarm is a Crane-thing.

And the robot modes have a lot of subtle differences then just the head.

 

Not only will a Shockwave/Longarm have to manage 2 alt modes and a transforming head, there's also the extending limbs gimmick.

 

I can't remember exactly what he said, but one of Kickback's post a while ago hinted at the toy having all four modes. Shockwave's bot-mode, Longarm's bot-mode, Shockwave's tank-mode, and Longarm's crane-mode. Personally I just hope that it's a great toy, and that it's a Voyager sized figure. It could end up as a Deluxe, but as long as it's still a great toy, I'll more than likely get it.

 

4 modes in a deluxe would not work I think. Voyager would be the only size it could work with.

But, well, actually thinking of it, they might pull it off, we have deluxes taller than voyagers and other new ways of doing things so maybe it could be done

 

well, his crane mode would probably just be the tank raised on its treads as it is the show, with a hook on the end of the cannon, so it's not like there's any serious change going on between modes.

 

It'd be easier to pull things off if he were a Voyager. I mean just look at Blitzwing.

 

I'd prefer if we would get two toys (and since Megatron, Prime, BB, Lockdown already have more versions that's not impossible)...

A deluxe-sized 'Longarm' that has the arm-extending gimmick, as well as the head-changing thing ,the fists to claws are also easy to do, the tank-crane transformation is the simple matter of concealing a hook in the tank barrell.

A voyager sized Shockwave toy, preferably in his trademark purple color, that has more features (remember, Megatron said 'size-changing powers') like a hidden gun-arm. Oh and electric lights and sounds. There hasn't been a Shockwave since 1985 with electric sounds...  

 

Shockwave would have to be a leader in order for that to happen. And I highly doubt Hasbro will make a Leader Shockwave.

In G1 he was, but in Animated he turns into a tank.

 

And this is why we have universe to have it G1 like so yah universe ultra shockwave would rule

 

I'll be looking forward to a new Shockwave toy whatever the size class. I'm quite fond of what I've seen of his new look.

 

Shockwave's H-tank form is pretty close to him Crane mode. I.e., from what i can tell, the turret turns into a crane. Blam! Two alt modes. After that it's just the flippy hands and face changing gimmick.

 

First it was TRUKK NOT MUNKY. Now, it's GUNN NOT TANK. Oy.

We really haven't seen shockwave/longarm in all his modes yet.

 

Actually, technically "Gunn not Tanck" came first. Remember Megatron?  

I like the idea BB suggested in some ways; a Voyager class proper Shockwave with the four-way transformation, but possibly a Deluxe Longarm for the stretchy limbs gimmick.
