So.... Does anyone acually play with their toys?

I completely agree with the clumped together comment. My most clumped shelf in my display case is my combiner/classics shelf (will post pics eventually). I have G1 Devastator, Classics Devastator (with classics mirage in his grip up in the air) and G1 Superion in the back (actually Superion is in front of Classics Devastator) and in the front of them I have a custom Classics Megatron (wings removed), Classics Grimlock and Classics Astrotrain all pointing their guns at who ever is peeking in on them.

However, due the size differential of combiners vs deluxe/voyager classics, you can see each TF decently.

Beyond that though I like to be able to see exactly who's who and appreciate them more by being able to see as much of them as possible, otherwise what's to display?

I like putting them in different poses and transforming them back in forth.
Although I am kinda scared about toys that say special collectors item because some of the pricier ones are so fragile... (MP Megatron and Starscream...).

I would, but I'm genuinely terrible at transforming most of the ones I own (especially the movie figures), and so I'm afraid I may break them if I constantly transform them. I do like to put them in cool poses though :D

Sometimes. Especially when I went to move them from my shelving unit to the top of my dresser. Every once in a while I'll pick one up, transform it a couple times, do some cool poses, and then put it back in it's place. I also do this when I first buy a TF.

I keep what ever recent bots I pick up here at the PC desk at home and fiddle w/ them till I need more room then it's to the display case for G1'S , Classics , or Exclusives , and storage for the other guys until I get more display cases.

Hell yes! They are toys, afterall and who are we to deprive them of fulfilling their destiny, the one and only purpose of their lives - to be handled and played?

That's why I don't mind getting good condition loose figures (from previous lines) coz they're all gonna get transformed, posed and displayed anyway. :thumbs2:

My wife and I move our Transformers about, fiddle with them, transform them, have them perform mock battles against one another and with imaginary opponents - this happens at least once a day. I say 'mock' and 'imaginary' because our collection is Decepticons-only, and they ran out of Autobots to battle ever since ten years ago, when my cousin permitted his parents to give away his entire collection to a series of orphanages (I shit you not). We're still sore over the fact that he let that happen - 'Con supporters though we are, we'd bet all the money in the world to an old tire that we'd have given those Autobots of his a good home. There were many rare and valuable items among their ranks, and contemplating where they are now sometimes brings us close to tears.

I still play with my toys. I have episodic adventures with the Classic/Cybertron/Energon toys. The storyline is basically like IDW take on it, with the Autobots fighting a cold war with Decepticons.

Of course, for me there's just no point of collecting and not enjoying them.

It should bring you to tears. It's not everyday that someone is willing to give hope to a child, letting them know someone cares. That's worth more than any amount of money.

Constantly. My wife even accuses me of playing with my TF's more than I play with my...er...

But seriously, yes, I play with my Transformers. My kids have their own collections, and what sort of example would I set if I just stared at mine on the shelf :)

At 35 the opportunities to really "play" with them (missions, sound effects, and all that) are few and far between. But when I do get those rare golden moments...it's on!

I like to fiddle with them, transform them back and forth and pose them, most of the action is going on in my mind, so you could say i play with them very carefully.
I only play with about one or two at a time, rarely any more then that. it's just to much work to be poseing and imagiang that many bots at a time, anyway theres just to many to have all out.
theres so many that any one bot can stay on the shelve for afew months, its not that i dont like them or dont want to pay with them but theres only so much time in a day.
