How Cool Is Henkei Astrotrain Or The Entire Henkei Line For That Matter?

Just got my Henkei Astrotrain yesterday. (He was a replacement for a damaged one....but that's a story in a previous thread.) The paint scheme is absolutely awesome and I have to say that he's on of my favorite TF's ever.

Words and pics DO NOT do this toy justice. Coolest Astrotrain ever. If you don't have one GET IT. If you do own one please use this thread to tell people what you like about him.

The Henkei line is one of the best ever and all of the figures I own from it are absolutely AMAZING. I have Grimlock, Starscream, and Astrotrain.

Takara definitely did Hasbro one better on these figures especially Starscream and Astrotrain!!

What do you think?

I actually like both. I really dig Purple Megatron and Silver Megatron, both work well. The only two I feel like Hasbro failed at in regards to paint apps are Starscream and Astrotrain.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!

I picked up Astrotrain and Megatron last weekend, Megatron because I loved the figure since I first saw it and Astrotrain because I decided I want to get all 3 modern decepticon triple changers when the other 2 are out. Astrotrain is great but Megatron is so much better, one of my fave figures and definatly my favourite Megatron out of the ones I have.

I would have rathered Classics Astrotrain be a realistic white/black deco if they were going to deviate from the anime so much.

HENKEI astrotrain is the best 'repaint' of the whole line with Powerglide being a close second.

I just got my Henkai Astrotrain and Megatron yesterday. I was super impressed with Astrotrain espescially. I live all the detail, the better coloring, the chrome engine boosters. All around a great toy!

The Henkei line is awesome. It really is just a well-done line so far for me. I owned all the Hasbro versions and I now own all the Henkei versions. Since I normally don't buy figures a couple of times that should say something for them. Good stuff!

Henkei Megatron is solid gold. much better looking than the purple "Galvatron" colored US release. If you skipped the US version, pick up the Henkei version; you won't be disappointed.

My personal opinion is simply this - Classics >>> Henkei. Honestly, random use of chrome, and slavish G1 paint apps do not make the figures any better. I'd rather have an updated look with no use of chrome.

(my) factor of desirability for Henkei versus Classics toys (out of 10)

Henkei Astrotrain - 8.0
Henkei Powerglide - maybe about the same - I wanna see better pics first)
Henkei Megatron - 5.0
Everything else - 1.0

Guide: 10=get at all costs, 5=worth getting, but could easily do without, 1=Only if you don't already have the Classics version.
(this scale subject to differing opinion or fan rage)

How the Animated toy line REALLY came to an end
