So when Classics Grimlock came out it turned out the flaps on the sides of his head had tabs that seemed like they should fit right into slots on this shoulder assembly, but they didn't quite line up so he was evidently misassembled (left and right side flaps switched)

So with Henkei Grimlock or Shattered Glass Grimlock has this issue been fixed?

I never noticed this problem on my Classics Grimlock and have since sold it. I have Botcon Grims here, (wot!), and his tail fits fine. I have yet to open my Henkei Grim, but I'll check the head flaps.

I have both. Botcon Grimmy has the same problem, but his shoulder flaps are tighter, so he doesn't pull a Classics Deluxe Prime (fanboyese for "arm flailing"), wot. Same with Henkei.

That's odd - my Classics Grim doesn't have that problem. Granted, the tabs aren't quite lined up right even if they were long enough to lock in place, but it's certainly not a switched flaps issue - if I swapped them over they'd be even further off. He's also got reasonably tight shoulder flaps. The closest thing to an issue is that the shoulders themselves are a little loose.

Hmm... ya, maybe it's not misassembled and they just don't line up properly anyway.

None of the joints on mine are really 'loose'.

when classics grimlock first came out people noticed this but when they switched the parts it STILL didnt line up.............. from what i remember, so technically its more of a design flaw than an assembly error

I was thinking that might be the case... just hadn't heard for sure. Disappointing to hear the design was messed up, but maybe saves me $$$ by making Henkei & SG Grimlock that much less desirable.
