My 1/48th Yamato Veritech came from a smoker, it smelled like an ashtray. Luckily for me he hadn't had it long enough for it to get discolored.
Smoke will discolor anything, but it takes steady exposure to do so. A once or twice event shouldn't harm anything but it seems to me that she's doing this every chance she gets.
This is turning into a serious addiction!

I don't smoke around them anymore and haven't for quite some time, and they don't smell like smoke - I've checked.
Maybe they did at one point, but they don't anymore. | |
