I 2nd this. I have no problem with KOs but people should be aware of what they are getting and need to know how to look for certain things.
My problem these days is spotting a repro label or instruction booklet. Is it even possible? Every Fort Max on ebay seems to have instructions but if you look at the seller's feedback, you'll see they were purchased from lanama(sp?) I actually saw someone selling just the instructions as genuine when their feedback for the purchase occured mere days before.
Yeah I agree. The thread is too incomprehensive and scattery, to the point that it is barely usefu. The subject and number of cases is getting so involved that to me it really needs its own section/set of threads, with a separate thread for each release. That would get rid of the 'too messy to find what you want' problem and help people actually get to the info they're looking for.
So should we ban together to create something for the greater good of collecting? As I really would like to help those who are not sure what to look for to avoid them getting taken by punk ass sellers that bull S*&t.
From auctions, the best thing to do is know who's selling them. Otherwise you really have to juxtapose two in hand - btw, those Omega Supreme instructions were the first time I had seen a comparison like that; thanks! NEWS: linanma is no longer registered. He likely received too many reports of selling counterfeits. Making those reports and getting the actual buyers to report these scum sellers apparently works. Unfortunately a seller, zoe_jj1984, now sells the same TF items w/the same pics. Curious, no? I reported him for being an alias of a banned user, but no action has been taken. This "new" Transformers seller also strategically makes his auctions private.
linama ban is awesome, if that is the reason. I used to report Primes (Easiest to spot) but it's a lot of work. This could be more incentive. Thanx!

IMO, that's one helluva strange connection.
Yeah, it's becoming increasingly treacherous to buy Alternators and Binaltech on ebay, because not only will some sellers use pics of the real BT figures then ship you a KO, in many cases the KOs can be identical -- even down to the packaging. For example, check out this thread: http://forum.play.com.my/viewtopic.php?t=10400 Also, I have heard through the grapevine that there are some convincing Alt Mirage/Rodimus KOs working their way into the market, as well as Shockblast/Meister RX-8 KOs on the way... and startlingly accurate movie deluxe KOs in packaging that are almost indistinguishable from the real thing without careful scrutiny.
Has anyone suggested something to the mods? Could it be a thread where the first post just lists all the figures that have been covered and all replies have the details. Have it locked so there aren't other type of replies. Have the original post link each reply so you don't have to scroll through.
Any chance you could fill us in on what happened to kotransformers.com? That was an awesome, burgeoning resource. Do the close-ups of the loose bootleg prime with a different version (legit reissue?) still exist?
