Movie Starscream is cool. I like the mold. I have all three variations. But if you can have animated now, go for it.

on looks alone, i would take movie starscream, despite the odd robot mode. i find the animated toys to be hideous looking and i actually dislike them more, the more i see of them.

wow, yeah, that's clearly evident. remind me again why the animated toys aren't on shelves yet.

Go for the animated SS. I personally don't like the chicken legs/feet on Movie SS. Plus its really Waspinator.

I like both, mostly the movie because I like the movie line in general, but I have both toys as well. Animated is hands down the coolest bot mode IMO.

Well, if you can get both. Both figures are really cool.

I know a lot of people have issues with Movie Starscream, but I love him because he's so drastically different from any other incarnation of SS and I dig the design. Sure his alt mode is kind of kibble-tastic if you look at all the undercarrige he has, but he's got one of the more interesting Transformations out of the line I think... of course, I also have all three versions of the mold (SS, Target G1 SS & Thundercracker) and I am seriously contemplating getting the Deep Space SS as well.

I don't have Animated SS yet, but I will say that from what I've seen of the toy he's just as awesome if not more so. He has loads of personality just in his face... :D  ...and the CHIN!

Henkei. Awesome figure, hands down. Looks like he jumped out of G1. :D

Of the two, my vote is movie, but that's just because I loathe everything about Animated Starscream's design.

Save your money for Animated SS. TF Movie SS is an ugly piece of poo.

Depends what you want. If you want a Starscream who looks like pretty much every other one go for the animated version.
If you want a refreshing new take on him grab the movie version.

I prefer the movie one to animated Starscream purely on the fact that I'm sick to death of the general G1-ish Starscream look.

Movie Screamer still has the cockpit on chest and wings to the back but he does it in a different looking way and in general is a really, really nice figure. Wish he had proper hands but oh well.

I guess after buying G1, Armada, Energon, Cybertron, Classics and Masterpiece Starscream I am just bored of all his incarnations looking basically the same. More fool me for buying them huh?

To be honest they're both nice figures (I just wouldn't buy the animated version), just go for whatever you're looking for in a Starscream.
