It's painful losing Transformers when you're young. It's even more painful where you're entire collection eventually disappears. I didn't have all that many to begin with, but it would have been nice if at least one of my childhood treasures could have remained with me to this day. Share your heartbreaking losses here. *sniff* :cry

Piranacon: I believe this box set was the very first Transformer I ever got. (T'was a very merry Christmas.) Since it was purchased in Kuwait, I don't know if it was the Hasbro or the Takara version. I liked it so much I even took it with me on our vacation to Baghdad. But eventually the Gulf War started and he was lost in the shuffle. No one hates Saddam Hussein more than me. -_-

Octane: Another TF I carried with me everywhere. I believe Octane is what got me excited about triple-changers. Sadly, I was careless enough to leave him in an Asda supermarket one day while tying my shoelaces. D'oh!

Snapdragon: His Headmaster Krunk vanished somewhere in Scotland. He wasn't much use after that. Luckily I managed to pick up Snapdragon with all accessories recently for under €20. He's as good as I remember. :)

G2 Ace Evader/Dreadwing & Smokescreen: One of my all-time favourites. (Who can say "no" to an articulated multi-missile launcher?) Don't remember what happened to him, but a lot of his missiles disappeared long before he did.

    G2 Thunderclash: See Ace Evader.

    G2 Skyquake: See Thunderclash.

Countdown: My only base Transformer. I believe this was given away at the church fair. I finally reclaimed him last year MIB for €30. See my review here.

And a list of all my other Transformers that were given away to the church. Thanks, mum!

    - Wheeljack
    - Actionmaster Slicer
    - Pretender Starscream
    - G2 Boss
    - G2 Space Case

And two honorable mentions: I lost Voltron and Gordian one piece at a time. Grrr.

I actually was a responsible kid and took care of my Transformers. I never lost a single one and I had over a hundred of them. All I lost were a couple of guns, and I had a couple of TFs break. But I've replaced the missing and broken bits. :D

My collection in the 80s topped out around 60 pieces...of those, only a few are left (Galvatron, Shockwave, Slag, Sludge, and a couple of worn out Constructicons). Most of them I gave away, but a few I lost in other fashion.

Scorponok, Soundwave, 2 Ultra Magnuses: destroyed with a golf club.
Gunrunner, TM Hot Rod, etc: burned to black heaps of plastic
Combiner cassettes: lost the very first day I had them
Jetfire (complete) and Sixshot (also complete): inadvertently left behind at a friend's house. The friend moved to North Carolina within a week.

Once G2 came out, I made sure to be a lot less destructive with my figures. Just about everything I have from that point on is complete, or at least as complete as it was when I acquired it.

I was fairly responsible, too... Other than a few breaks, I only actually lost BW Razorbeast. BW Cicadadon begs to differ (lost damn near anything that connected to him), but that's really it.

While I was at school, One of my nephew's was being watched by my mom. I don't know how it hapened, but when I got off the schoolbus later that day, the first thing I saw was a completely smashed optimus prime in my driveway. Of course it was MY optimus prime, and it had been run over by a car...probably more than 1 time as I have a shared driveway. I am still a little bitter about that. :(

These figures with their boxes were either given away by my dad or stolen from the basement. Optimus Prime, Computron, Constructicon cards, Rodimus Prime, Blaster w/ tapes, Sunstreaker, Bumblejumper, and Mirage when I brought him to school and left him in my desk. I got back into Transformers when I came down with the chicken pox 2 years ago at the age of 32. I found a box in the garage where we use to live. I found Megatron, Shockwave, Jetfire, Metroplex, Blitzwing, Astrotrain, Perceptor, Skywarp, Constructicons, Protectobots, Soundwave w/ Rumble, Ravage, and Buzzsaw. Thank God I saved the boxes for all the ones I found.:dj  After that I was at home for weeks and got introduced to ebay. I bought an Energon Unicron and some Alternators and it was all down hill from there!

I had a beat up G1 Skywarp that I found in a friend's garage, a Red Alert I bought off someone for $8 bucks, and an Ironhide my brother stole from a kid at a party. I never saw those beyond the few months I had them. Oh, but revenge is sweet my friends. :)

All my G1 cassettes minus Randance, Grand Slam, Squalktalk, Beastbox and my headless Rewind were stolen by one of my mom's piano students. I was very happy to replace them all via ebay when I got back into collecting.

Mothers are the enemies of anything you've ever collected as a child, not just transformers. Even Mad Magazine touched upon this subject...

"Sir, would you care to shed some light into the secret behind your fortune?"
"Well, I can mostly thank my mother for her lazy housekeeping. She never threw away my old baseball cards!"
