but ALL the R.I.D figures are much much better than the Armada ones. I don't really have any Energon or Cybertron toys because the shows didn't interest me, so I didn't collect any of the toys.

Yea, I'm definitely picking up RID Scourge.

I may consider Amrada Skywarp as well even though I'm not that huge on collecting repaints.

 

For RiD, I would definitely get the thirteen original molds (Prime, Magnus, the Car Bros., Landfill, Rail Racer, and Megs). They're all really cool (although I can't speak from personal experience with Prime and Magnus, sadly, as they're still two of my personal grails). Scourge is also fantastic.

From Armada, the one figure I'd recommend highest is Hoist. He's one of my top ten TFs of all time. He's highly poseable, looks cool in both modes, and is just a ton of fun to fiddle with. Other recommendations would be Bendy Prime, Megatron, Wheeljack, Unicron (duh), Cyclonus, Starscream, and Red Alert. If you're a big Hot Rod fan, Powerlinx Hot Shot is a cool homage, but the mold is really kind of crap.

 

Not that I have many of 'em in my collection but imho these are safe bets:

RiD
- Prime (+Magnus if possible)
- Car brothers (all 3 or any of'em)
- Rail Racer
- Megatron (10-changer for braggin' rights!)

Armada
- Unicron (definitely, unless you're after the Energon repaint)
- Hoist (just because I'm a sucker for construction TFs)

- Tidal Wave (colours work better for me, and yes blame Dilazirk)
- Megatron
- Sharkticon (if you like unique, posable figs)
- Mirage (same as above)

Cybertron
- plenty of 'em, whichever tickles your fancy, I'd say.

Dont get Vector Prime. The figure looks great but the transformation and the alt mode are just way too Star Wars-ish for me. Some people really like him, I'm one of those who couldnt wait to sell mine.

 

You guys think I should get an Armada Prime for my Powerlinx Jetfire?

 

I've got Jetfire already. Kinda disappointed in the figure by itself so I'm looking to maybe get a fig that combined with him. Can Overload and Prime combine with him at the same time?

 

The combined mode isn't that great. Prime's combined mode head sculpt is pretty terrible and Jetfire's shield doesn't stay attached to Prime's chest. If you want a combining Prime, you're better off with Powermaster, RiD, or Cybertron.

I do have Blurr, Scavenger, and Sideways but I plan on either selling them or using them for customs.

On the Armada end, I hope to pick up Skywarp/Thundercracker. As for RID, there's Railracer, Ultra Magnus, and perhaps the red version of Prime.

 

I recomend the Energon Powerlinx figures: Downshift, Hot Shot, Inferno, Ironhide, Prowl & Rodimus (I think they all have multiple paints).

If you like G1, Downshift is an updated Wheeljack, Prowl is Mirage. Inferno & Rodimus are nice updates of themselves. Ironhide has nothing in common w/ the G1 figure but is nice. Plus, you get all the different merged combinations since any two can combine with each other.

I also like the RID Prime, Magnus & Railracer everyone has recommended. RID car brothers look nice in vehicle mode but shells look awful (Police lambo mold is least obtrusive in robot mode)

Unicron is a boring planet but an imposing figure. Worth having.
