no one have a problem with it here. Sure sometimes they wonder how much money I spend on it but I dont know and dont want to know either. But when they get a little info that I only collect G1 they all change and go for yeah I remeber those man those ROCKED.

Anyone who has ever made fun or thought little of my Transformers Collection has never seen it.

 

Not too much. My parents know my mortage, car payment and other bills come first and they know it's just something I enjoy. Plus my Dad would help me put the stickers on my G1 toys when I was little, so he enjoys seeing how far the enginerring and quality have come over the years. His jaw dropped when I showed him Masterpiece Megatron. My friends usually just are blown away by how many I have, and like to look at my G1 collection and can typically point out Optimus, Soundwave or Starscream immediately. They've never given me TOO much lip, they know I could kick the crap out of them if they piss me off  

 

I actually got the "aren't you a little old for this?" from an old lady at the register at Wal-mart. That was very strange to me since I was only 12 (it was the first wave of Armada). I'm 16 now and I only tell my family and a select few of people are considered dorks or geeks. I never tell my "cool" friends about it just because I don't need sh!t from them so I just never bring it up. Also, it doesn't hurt that all my transformers are in 3 large bins (3 cabinet, plastic bins) with copy paper in the front to cover whats inside (also helps against UV rays  ). This is just my approach. I'm not completely ashamed, I'd just rather separate business from pleasure.

I haven't heard much of anything since I sold my stuff and streamlined my collection. In fact, I've essentially removed people from my life who would make negative comments about the collection. If a friend wants to joke/parody the fact that I like this stuff, and he does it repeatedly, then he's not much of a friend.

 

I used to get shit from one guy; I pointed out that while I fill my spare time with something I love doing, he leaves work, goes to the pub, then goes to bed, and does the same thing all over again.
He doesn't give me shit any more. Odd, that.  

 

I genuinely look forward to people giving me crap. It doesn't happen all that often, since anyone who knows about my collecting usually knows that I own a house, am in grad school, etc.

But when someone does give me garbage (you should grow up, isn't that for kids, etc.), I just point out my two tours overseas. Bringing up the combat experience usually silences any criticism.

From regular folks, at least. My soldiers still give me all sorts of crap about it, and probably always will.  

 

My collecting also involves lots of buying and selling online. The selling so far has not only paid for my collection, but paid for a good chunk of my ~6 years of college so far. My girlfriend is a bit geeky like me, so while she does her fantasy toys, I do Transformers; it works well.

 

My wife is the only person who gives me shit about collecting.

Hell, my mom has paid for half of all my masterpiece figures except Starscream.

 

I don't get shit for Transformers. I get the whole "You have no life" deal for being amazing at Guitar Hero. But I digress...

 

Mostly happens when playing online. I'll be doing one of those rare times I talk, some dude makes fun of me for liking what I like.

my friends at school sometimes make fun of me for just even liking transformers. They call it an obsession. It ticks me off. But I just ignore them most of the time.

 

I get shit from my mom, brother and some of my coworkers.

 

I don't get shit from anyone worth paying attention to.

Hell, I geek it up with impunity. I brought Classics Skywarp with me to the bar.  
Magnus had to sit in the car. He sucks.

 

My dad thinks its stupid. He never said a negative word about them for years, but one day while pissed off he let it all out, so I know his opinion on them now.

My mom is mostly neutral, but slightly positive. She thinks theyre interesting and as long as I have the spendable money for them, getting them is fine.

My little sister doesnt have a major problem with them but just thinks its a waste of money. She isnt interested in them.

My girlfriend actually likes transformers and approves of my collection as long as the bills get paid. She's gotten me a couple, including Movie Prime and Vector Prime  

My friends like to joke around and make fun of them but in reality they dont really care because theyre all nerds too. Once I showed them MP Megatron they didn't really ever mention it again   Blew them away. They didnt believe that it transformed until I showed them.

Everyone knows about them. I don't hide them or anything, have them displayed across a desk in my room.

 

My best friend jokes about it and I'm cool with it and joke about something he likes that I think is lame  

A few years ago, my mom actually bought me an optimus prime armada for christmas because she knew how much I liked optimus prime. Not being a toy collector, I was very happy with her gesture.

My two best girl friends also once bought me an energon toy in my birthday, knowing how much I liked transformers. Can't remember the name... inferno energon I think. Didn't really care about the toy though, but it makes a guy really happy to know the really important people in your life value your passions.

Don't think anyone ever gave me crap about it. If someone ever did, couldn't care less, because I don't remember.

 

My friends are cool with it, whenever anyone sits at the computer they will pick up one of the many figures I have sitting there. And when they can't transform it they hand it over to me and say "Turn this into a _______"
