I was just at my local Target and found a very odd item in the clearance aisle... Didn't buy it, as I already have three versions of this mold, and the price was not that compelling, but WTF was this doing at Target? IT had been opened and the flaps were damaged...but I pulled it out and all the paperwork, stickers, parts were there. Also, shouldn't this have a orange plug in it? For any interested board members who live in the Twin Cities, this was at SuperTarget in Fridley as of 2pm on 1-23.
If this is real, all I can say is holy !@$#. Too bad I work till 8. by the time I got there it would either be gone, or the store closed, for the day.
Target.com was selling the Encore re-issues. You can return online items to retail stores. Or everything is staged to see what kind of responses can be solicited from the above image. Not the first time someone has been like, OMG about something.
Hubba jubba WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!? How'd a Japanese-only reissue of G1 Megatron get to the US!? That's pretty wild.
Holy CRAP Holy CRAP I would have bought that without hesitation. I ordered one from overseas, which I shouldn't had done and the box was damaged in the shipping. Damn I wish my Target had this...
HOLY SLAG ANA HALF go for it if you can leave it mib and in like 20-25 year from know it will be worth a small fortune i bet
YOU NEED TO GO BACK. If you put that thing up for sale at 20% profit, your inbox would be full within an hour.
...damn it my Target doesnt even have MOVIE MEGATRON let alone G1. I'd have bought that in a second, even if I usually keep a limit on the price.
Here's why I passed it up: 1. I have an excellent vintage Megatron on display 2. I have the recent Japanese "Book style" release sealed and tucked away. 3. I have the US version of this encore tucked away. 4. $50 is not that great a deal for this item anyway...at least I did not think it was..now I ma second guessing myself. I got my Japanese book one for around $90 and my Encore was closer to $60, I think. Plus, this item had serious damage to both flaps on either end. The only reason to buy this would have been to try and "scalp" it, which is a morally reprehensible offense, right? In summary, I am a not a giant moron. Also, I wonder if the fact that Target HQ is here in MPLS has played a role in this item turning up locally. I wonder if it could have been returned somewhere else and got shipped back to the Target mothership because it is such an obscure return.
