Is there a fool-proof way to distinguish them? The reason I'm asking is I will be looking to sell 3 of these figures (Skywarp, Astrotrain and Prowl) and I want to make ensure I describe them properly (as being originals or reissues). The figures were bought loose from a comic shop a year and a half ago (when I was getting back into collecting actively and unaware of the TRU reissues).

If Prowl's missile launchers are disabled, thats a reissue
If Skywarp's Missiles are huge (like HUGE), thats a reissue
I'd go to tfu.info and compare pics with G1s and Reissues. |

Weird that my Skywarp doesn't have the rub sign too; that and it's got a stamp that reads "Takara Co. Ltd. 1980 - 1983... Japan"..

Examples of these would be the seekers and a few of the cars. Also, Prime's cab as a reissue has shorter smoke stacks than the original. The real question is how to tell the latest KOs from the real thing based on pictures. |
