G1 originals versus reissues

Are there any distinct differences between the G1 reissues and the originals? Is there a fool-proof way to distinguish them? The reason I'm asking is I will be looking to sell 3 of these figures (Skywarp, Astrotrain and Prowl) and I want to make ensure I describe them properly (as being originals or reissues). The figures were bought loose from a comic shop a year and a half ago (when I was getting back into collecting actively and unaware of the TRU reissues).

If Astrotrain is white, thats a reissue.

If Prowl's missile launchers are disabled, thats a reissue

If Skywarp's Missiles are huge (like HUGE), thats a reissue

I'd go to tfu.info and compare pics with G1s and Reissues.

Reissues have the date they produced on the copyright so thats the easiest way to tell them apart...at the Hasbro ones do (never looked at Takara ons).

THe Skywarp can be a takara convention loose , but I doubt that to 99.999% since those are limited to 1000 each and I dont think ppl who buy those open them up. But as above said, use the date under them.

Thanks for the info; looks like the only reissue I have (out of those 3 bots) is Prowl since the missile launchers are disabled. Weird that my Skywarp doesn't have the rub sign too; that and it's got a stamp that reads "Takara Co. Ltd. 1980 - 1983... Japan"..

Most of the missles on the Hasbro reissues are elongated for child safety. The originals were not. Examples of these would be the seekers and a few of the cars. Also, Prime's cab as a reissue has shorter smoke stacks than the original. The real question is how to tell the latest KOs from the real thing based on pictures.
