I kind of feel like Optimus Prime and Megatron should have been the same size Starscream is.
Yes, Prime would have seemed small in truck mode compared to an Alternator, but he would fit in with them better in robot mode.
Megatron would have been closer in size to a real P-38, and might have even been more stable in robot mode.
It's just a thought.

I think it's looks better that the leader is taller than his subordinates. It just makes sense to me. | |

But I find their size completely acceptable. But what if the jets were in scale with the Alts? Hmmm. | |

Take a closer look at the scale of G1 Transformers Prime Megatron and Starscream. OP and Megs at least the same height while Starscream is somewhat short. I guess this is how the patterned the scale of the MP series.
I could be wrong... but I doubt it. | |

Prime and Megs, though kickass figures, dwarf most combiners and are too close to Armada Unicron's size that he's just not that imposing next to them.
