    Ok, Heres what I did,

Used some Gel toothpaste (old model builders trick) to polish the metal back to a high chrome sheen.

Covered every part of the chrome that I could see with 2 light coats of Future.

That was a couple hours ago, The future has since dried, and the gloss and luster is brilliant. I would almost say better than when I got it.

    Hope that lasts

I bought MP-05 about 2 years ago and never opened it, for fear of breaking tabs or something. I wonder if I opened it, if the cosmic rust would be there...

Thanks for this info, Snake eyes, Trailbreaker, and igniz! I am afraid to look, but if there is rust, it sounds like there are a few good options.

If I were you, I would at least open it and look. If its NOT corroded, then toss in a tiny bag of dissicant that come in most products..at least that would stop it from ever starting.

    You NEVER opened MP-05?!!??!?

That thing is sick kick ass dude...

I know- seems stupid to me too! I started reading about people having a hard time transforming it, breaking tabs, getting frustrated and never wanting to try to transform it again, and then I started reading about the cosmic rust, and then I guess I just got too scared to even touch the thing!

The desiccant is a good idea! Maybe it's finally time to crack that bad boy open.

I opened mine when 1st purchase to transform him, then put him back in the box for about 2 -3 years. Mine was covered in rust pretty badly. Glad I sold him, he's good with the add on kit to have in gun mode but bot mode is a joke imo. Replaced him with Hegemon haven't regretted it at all.
