I was just at Fry's and to my shock they actually had alternators (quite a few on the shelf even). They were priced at 24.99 (sadly I did not/do not have any cash so a purchase will have to wait), which I'm guessing was their standard retail.
Now, they only had 3 different molds (a few of each though)...so I was trying to figure out who to get when I can afford to go get one.
So between Rollbar, Skids, and Ricochet....who should I pick up? NGW on Steam |

The other two are just sucky repaints of way better characters that came before them. And Skids is a great mold. Read "Gears' Comedy Explosion!!!" How awesome is Gears? |

1-Ricochet (as divebomb)
2-Skids
3-Rollbar (as tantrum)
If you can only get one, but can't afford sticker sets, go for Skids. But if you can manage to scrounge more money, get all 3 |

Leaning towards Skids though. NGW on Steam |

Skids is one of the best Alternator Molds as far as articulation and balance goes in robot mode, and his transformation is both complex and understandable. Best part vs. the subaru mold is that he requires infinitely less part "massaging" to get him right in alt mode, everything clicks into place. Aside from him, I'd say Rollbar. The Jeep mold is nice, but is quite simple for an alt.
Give Ricochet a pass, I'd say. My main issue with the subaru mold is its built-in flaw in shoulder design that basically means the shoulders will eventually, inevitably, droop madly. Arms should never be held up by an unsupported or unratcheted upward swinging hinge. Ever. |

I just hope I can work up some cash since, knowing my luck, this'll be my last chance to pick up an Alternator at retail.
Thanks for the help guys. NGW on Steam |
