Oh imagine if they did it in G1 Colours or Smoke tint with Cyberglyphs or G1 Reissue Ricochet colours - that would be neat - but the same is true of Barricade he had some neat alt colours too.

I'm looking for some cool pieces for my collection, so I've been looking around eBay and I'm shocked at how many "Reissue" G1 toys there are now, far worse of a problem than when I started collecting.

Before I go buy anything I just want to check. I'm currently looking for MP-11 Starscream, Binaltech/Kiss Players Rodimus in particular and some random Beast Wars season 1, 2 and 3 figures. Are any of these lines full of hard to tell Knock Off's (other than the TM2 Megatron)?

When buying Transformers off ebay you need to be careful. Ask for a LOT of close up pics. I was burned on a G1 Shockwave. Had it for about 2 years before I found out it was a "Re-issue"...of course Shockwave was never re-issued so its basically a fake. pretty decent quality. But still a fake. Check feedback, and stay away from the "re-issues" unless you dont care.

If you find it relevant, KO Alternators Rodimus can be easily passed off as authentic: Famitoy (Malaysia): Fake Toy Review - Alternators Hot Rodimus

Thanks for that. I've got a KP Rodimus on the way now from a seller I've bought from before.

I've settled on getting the Takara versions of TM Optimus and TM Megatron, but they seem really common for 15 year old Takara toys, did they not sell well or are the ones floating around on eBay KO's?

Are the "high-end" KOs of the headmasters, combiners, and reflector from Chimungmung compatible with authentic G1 figures? Just the accessories? I have real figures, but the accessories are so expensive I'm thinking of picking up some KOs just for the accessories. So do the heads, weapons, combiner bits fit onto real G1s?

    Thanks!

I think you'll probably find that the guns fit, but exchanging body parts may be hit and miss.

I know some have problems with the KO Dinobot Swoop's weapons fitting even on the toy they come with.

My HQ KO Grimlock and Sludge's guns/swords don't fit the authentic ones and likewise my HQ KO Aerialbots connectors don't plug into my authentic Silverbolt.

I did not have the time to read through this entire thread. What is the datestamp on the KO dinobots? I had read on the ko comparison website, it is just "Takara". Has this changed? Are KO dinobots made with the "Has/Tak" stamp?
My dinos Sludge and Slag have the Has/Tak stamp. The Slag has both on the same leg. The Sludge has both, but the mold according to Fred's is the Macau mold since the indent is oval and not square, but is reads takara and not Macau.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Sounds like it's better chances than a coin flip that the KO parts won't fit my authentic figures. Sadness.

I had to shave the post on my ko Swoop's blaster just to get him to be able to hold it. His sword fits fine though. His sword also fits my legit Dinobots as well.
