Most of the KO's are really good though. I have a Prime and Devastator KO, and they are made identical to the originals. Plastic on Dev is a tiny bit harder then the old one. Prime is a hair taller than the G1 outside of that, they look Identical. And seeing as I can't pay $2000.00 for a MINT G1 Prime, I did not mind paying the $50.00 for him.

If you all want to know what the KO's look like, simply go to iOffer: A Place to Buy, Sell & Trade

99% of the Transformers on there are KO. They have many pictures of each item. But fair warning, what you guys think about them, and how they are now is way different. I have bought a few KO's from that site... and the newer ones look almost identical to the originals now. But yeah ... check out the site, and you will see what I mean.

Here is a few pictures of my G1 KO Prime. Good Plastic, Chest is Metal. Just a nice toy all around if you ask me.

EDIT: Went to the site and grabbed some images. And yes, everyone of these are KO's.

Here are some good video reviews of the HQ KO's:

    UltimateG1Reviewer's Channel - YouTube

Many of the videos are on KO's (eg. Dinobots, Defensor, Menasor, Superion ). He doesn't explicitly mention they are KOs but you can tell - eg. The packaging for Grimlock is called "Dinobot Bommander", The Superion package has "Firelight" instead of the correct name of "Fireflight".

Believe it or not, most of them are HQ now. I still love my original G1 toys though.

I'm sorry if this has been asked, but is there a way to tell the difference between KO's and the originals of newer toys, such as Universe 2.0 Starscream?

    Reissue Sludge?

I recently got a sludge that was supposed to be at 1984 original (loose, not packaging), but I'm suspicious. The copyright says: Takara, with some Japanese/Asian lettering, JAPAN and 1980 1984. It doesn't say Hasbro. Is this a Chinese reissue from the early 90's?

Sorry if this was asked before.

Thanks for the link. I actually read this, but I can find a definitive answer as to what that copyright marking really means. I've seen different sites say different things. It does help with other figures I might get in the future, so thanks!

    Anyone else???

Only two US versions have either Japan or Macau. Both should say Hasbro on them I think.
    FredsWorkshop.com

Europe or JP versions, I couldn't say. If you can post pictures maybe we can see.

    Does it look like this?

    FredsWorkshop.com (from original page)

This is one of the, apparently three, versions of the stampings you can get on a U.S. Sludge. I'd wager that this is the earliest mark of the three.

It is probably a knockoff from 2005+, based on the Copyright. That Copyright is not very common on real Sludges and all the KO Sludges have it. This page has a really good pictorial comparison so you can tell for sure:

    TF315 --- KO

Hey, this helps a lot, along with Engledogg's link. From both, I've deduced its definitely a 1985 vintage original G1. It follows the descriptions from both links.

Thanks and much appreciated! Glad to know I didn't get ripped off!

I would like to see comparison of Battle Gaia. Boxes are different of course, but KO looks very identical. Can someone take a photo of these unique toys?

Two months ago I purchased the Menasor KO and I am pleased with it.

The only problem I had with it is trying to transform Dead End's feet.

and the figure is floppy cracked piece of crap right out of the box if it is a KO. Mine had broken legs and a head that wasn't even connected.
