Just for the sake of clarification, i've bought several toys from Lena, and there's been nothing 'second' about them... However one board member did buy a Cloud Starscream from the same seller and got one with misaligned pins.

So it's one of those your mileage may vary things.

Thanks guys. For $12, I'm willing to take the chance after seeing the preorder prices for the whole set.

Well, yeah. I meant as opposed to them being KOs. With this figure, since its part of a multi-pack I'd imagine what happened was the factory made 5,000 each of the other figs and lets say 5,500 of this one, so the extras go up on eBay. She also sells QC rejects - I bought a FoC skywarp and MP-12t from her that both had bad paint.

But for a $12 figure you're probly ok.

Mine has a couple of scratches on the paint, but very minor, and loose foot joints. Easily fixed.

Got loose yellow Cliffjumper and red Bumblebee for my birthday/Christmas. Any way to tell out of the package if they are high end KO? The wear on them seems to indicate vintage, but you never know...

maybe a weird question but does anyone know about those oversized legends transformers?
I have heard they are about scout class, does anyone have some of those?
I would love to see them!

Here's are some comparison pictures of MP and a KO MP Ratbat I've lifted from this thread, originally posted by Cax6ton and G1 Collector, http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-3rd-party-discussion/1007120-ko-mp-ratbat.html, each followed by a similar pic of a clear MP test shot I took myself:

KO on left, authentic figure on right: The KO has narrower piston details. Obviously these details are very hard to see on the test shot.

KO - left, authentic - right: The inner tailfin horizontal lines are absent on the KO, and shorter on the exterior.

KO - left, authentic - right: "Wing claws: note the inner lines/vents: on the KO they are perpendicular to the long straight edge, on the official they are perpendicular tot he hypotenuse"

KO on right, authentic figure on left: the KO right thruster doesn't align parallel with the left thruster.

KO - bottom, authentic - top: Pretty much all face details are smoother on the KO

Can anyone tell me if knock offs are worth trying or if they are to be avoided?

Depends on which ones you're considering. Generally speaking, the high quality G1's and Masterpieces are pretty good.

I may try for Smokescreen since I think I can wait for Bluestreak to pop up at TRU.

Just a heads-up for anybody who purchases or is thinking about purchasing from TF-Direct.com...earlier today they posted on their Facebook page that they were now selling KO'd Sentinel pens, for $30 a pop without box.

Both the description on their Facebook page and the link on their actual site said the pens were KO'd.

Somebody was commenting on the original post and said if they were KO'd, they should be less than $30, and the guy running the FBook page was arguing with him over the price.

This afternoon, he deleted the entire original post with the conversation about price as well, and then reposted saying that they're NOT KO'd, they just don't have the box.

I don't judge KOs so long as they're explicitly depicted as such...but this whole thing is shady as hell, so...buyer beware on the Sentinel pens now too!

Here's the TF-Direct link to the product: NO BOX Sentinel - Transformers Pen - Optimus Prime Red Convoy Pen Action Figure | TF-DIRECT

So I'm thinking about buying some KO versions of the G1 combiners... I see some on ebay, but isn't there a webstore somewhere that sells all these G1 KOs? What are the going prices?

Also the "KO/reissues" are pretty close to G1 quality if you stay away from the $10 dollar store versions, right? Anything with (fake) G1 packaging should be ok, right?

Thanks for the tip, looks like they have plenty of combiners and a few other G1 reissues. I'll keep my eyes peeled.
