The mini-Whirl isn't actually a TF KO, its a Dorvack KO.

Yes I know... But I though more people would know what I was on about if I said Whirl than If I said I had an Ovelon KO.

One other early KO I really like is the little Scorpion Digital Watch that is so cute it's almost like a Pre-Transformers Movie Scorponok.

Official. The inevitability of that happening is one of the reasons I don't plan to get into sealed nor AFA'd figures.

AFA get caught out all the time it's a full time job educating them to the various knock offs. and to many slide through minibots especially.

Besides if your aiming to deceive you can buy the cases separately print up the paperwork and seal stickers and then knock off the whole process which makes the whole thing a bit of a joke really.

I like the cases but the whole idea of grading to me is slightly absurd.

Certain figures are more prone to it than others. The 1984 vehicle-mode-packaged mini-bots are truly the worst, though.

No? The only knockoffs with Hasbro/Takara stamps were made in 2005 and later, and Starscream is not among them.

Maybe you are thinking of the 1990's Chinese reissues, which are legit?

When has AFA graded a knock off, apart from the Beachcombers (and maybe a cassette or two?) that happened back in 2005 when these first came out? I have not heard of any other incidents.

They don't distinguish between 1990's Chinese reissues (legit) and originals, but that is a totally different matter....
