just the box, just as it was in 1984.

a BIG sep up from the Prime KO boxes. i can't wait for the wheeljack and sunstreaker Ko's to come out.

Actually, I think someone said that the difference on all the packaging was that the cardboard used for the boxes and cardbacks is thinner than the original. Not a big deal if you're just using it for display, but kinda crappy if someone tries to pass it off as an original box.

well, compared to my remake swoop box, the soundwave box is FAR superior in quality, texture and sheen. if i didn't know the remake sw box was a remake, and knew only the remake swoop box was, comparing the two, i'd have to say the sw box was an original. scarry, maybe, but i don't really care about de-valueing toys and whatnot everyone else seems upset about. it LOOKS like a G1 box, and thats all i ever wanted. remake or not. i'm very very happy

AFAIK, just the box. If they don't produce it now, they'll just do it down the line when the TRU and Takara reissues have dried up.

There were both variations on the original Swoop. Some had the straight wings, and some had the bent wings. There were also several different copyright stampings on the originals. Not sure which copyright stamping was used on the fake Swoops, but if someone can confirm which wings and which copyright stamp was used on the fakes, that would be quite helpful.

For info on the different variations of G1 Swoop, check out Freds Workshop. Here is the link http://www.geocities.com/futuristgro...bot.html#swoop

HAd the chance to diligently (sp?) compare a g1 rumble with the remake rumble. the details are finer and more pronounced on the remake, however the remake weapons DO NOT WORK with the G1 versions. both the weapons and the toy are about 5% bigger due to the reverse engeneering they must have done, wich explains why the stickers on mine don't seem to line up with the parts.

2 mian indecators on KO Swoop

on the clear part of beak the tear drop end is slightly larger than the original

the bubble insert for original covers the whole backer card, the KO only outlines around swoop

original bubble

Identifying Fake/Real G1

I have recently purchased a G1 Override MOSC. There are some Chinese word stickers on the card but the seller said it is there for the Chinese market. Can anyone tell me how to identify whether its a real or fake G1? Or is it a bootleg?

it's hard to place these. they came out while G1 was in production, but continued well after. these ones with the stickers on them were considerd authentic untill recently when they were discovered to be unauthorised, and now are considered by many to be knockoffs (but not me) i think they are just unauthorised pressings.

but yeah, this belongs in the other thread.
