I think you should have the mods sticky a thread with all the KO vs Original info and lock it so it doesn't get cluttered with comments.
Great job! | There is a stickied KO vs. Original thread at the top of the toyark here but one with a sublink to each different character so it can be clearly navigated would be cool. |

"Kitbash fodder", and "cheaper then the original", are just some of the poor excuses collectors use when trying to justify purchasing these items. But in reality, you are supporting criminals who manufacture these toys without consent of Hasbro or Takara, legitimate and respectful companies who have been in the business for over 20 years, who work hard every year to bring new and exciting products to Transformers fans.
But lets look at the truth. All these knock offs and bootlegs, they're not official, they're not re-issues, they're not remakes, they are a stain on the Transformers name. 100's of individual Transformers collectors every year, get tricked into buying these toys, thinking they are official items, only to be dissapointed that they got a fake. and it sucks.. but what can we do about it?
We can make ourselves heard. We can make the general public AWARE, that these things are out there, and we can help them know how to tell the differences, and how to report online auctions, preventing people from getting cheated.
For more information, check out TFW2005.com They have a wonderful thread stickied at the top of one of their Toy Ark forums, called, How to tell the new KO reissues apart from authentic toys. How to tell the new KO Reissues apart from authentic toys.
I recommend every Transfan read through that thread, and do as much research as you can before buying any vintage Transformers product. | That's a good speech and all...
See? I do my part. Only problem with this guy is hislack of accessories. And Botch Crabs.
This is another way to discern the KO boxart from the real ones. Only the boxart though. |
