Wheeljaxx, is the KO reflector the exact same size as the G1 or there is an obvious or slight difference in size?

there is NO scale difference at all. not even the "re-cast" 1% or 2%. It's even Diecast.

Just got my KO Reflector today, don't know if it's just mine or all of them but when combining them the red one doesn't fit very snuggly together, it's actually quite loose. Almost made me want to display them in bot mode it bugged me so much.

On another not, I also got the KO Insecticons in today too. Something I noticed, the clear yellow plastic on their chests doesn't seem as "clear" as I remember the originals being when I was a kid, they have a slight [i[milky-ness[/i] to them. Not overly noticeable and I could be wrong though, I haven't had an original in my hands for quite some time now. Also Bombshell don't hold his gun very well, like the peg's too small or the hole in his hand it too big.

Hey all, new guy here. ANyone ever deal with Yahobby before? I bought a KO Snarl and KO Gnaw and they came totally jacked up. Box was crushed, the figures inside were falling apart etc. Wondering if anyone else had this experience with them...

You may want to bookmark Fred's Workshop, but the page you want is this one:
Variations: Everything Else Autobot Scroll down to the "The Reissues" section

The box of the counterfeit was crushed in transit, but I was still able to take some half-decent pictures for IDing.

Mike, do you have the plastic or the metal version ko? I have the metal version ko where the box looks more like the original. The background on the box is the same as your ko one, but Devastators color's on the box are right on par with the original. Also the purple on the Constructicon figures are very close to the original and not as dark as yours. I got my ko giftset from forum member E3nine.

The Kiditoys version (mine) is the plastic version.

My bad, for some reason when I saw M in your screen name I thought Mike, not Might. See what a 4 month old son does to your head. I'll see if I can get a pic up of the metal version giftset.

I had the KO Doubledealer a little while back. He is in scale with the original (I had them next to eachother and if you were just getting back into TF's you might not be able to tell. Some of the paint apps on the orig. were now replaced with stickers, those stickers were a lot thinner on mine, they fell off with the slightest brush, the faction stickers were brighter than the orig. (like the con one was almost pink). Another thing I remember was the red ring on the tires on the original are not on the KO, they are just black tires. The powermasters don't even come close to their orig. counterparts. One cool thing was the Light blue part (that carries the PM's) is a good replacement. My PM's fit perfectly and the peg holds just fine on my original.
Hope this helped answer any of your questions...

You can tell on the Frenzy/Ravage set because the hips are the wrong color. On the cassette side (the part visible from the packaging) they should be the same color as the rest of the cassette, but on the counterfeit, they're the color of the robot side instead.

Frenzy, Ravage, Laserbeak, Rumble and Ratbat have all been bootlegged.

The easiest indicators I've found to spot the bootleg cassettes from a distance are the hips on Rumble & Frenzy, as Might Gaine described above as well as the VERY shiny, large, possibly aluminum rivets on Frenzy & Rumble (the original steel-toed versions had dark, steel rivets); Ravages shiny metal legs (the original looks like it has dirty splotches); and the painted center screw on Ratbat - the original didn't have a painted screw, but don't confuse a non-visible screw with the sticker-details version of Ratbat that has the screw partially covered by the the sticker. Laserbeak also has the shiny rivets although I don't think you can see this from cassette mode.

I still have problems to tell them appart. I already have the tapes. I just want the original cards and bubbles. I know a dead giveaway are if there is a price sticker left btu thats not common. ( Found a Ratbat/ Frenzy with price sticker left just card and bubbles)

But as I said the major problem is Ravage/ Rumble and Frenzy Lazerbeak.

When you say hip color do you mean the toy or the artwork ?

any site that shows pics of how to tell them apart ?

    is this a original card
