Today I was visiting my local TRU and I saw a lone reissue the box had a little fading I thought. I scanned it and in the store it scanned for $0.01, I took it to the register and said hey can you scan this if it rings up as what it is I want to buy it. He scans it and it rings up right, he checks it out I was goign to use my card then I think I might have change so I dig threw my wallet and give him a penny, I think for a second and realize no dollar spent no sales tax. Upon opening the box I realize someone has spilled something on it but the toy was untouched, I had seen the same toy sitting there before so it must have been a customer or employee that never told anyone they did it, as it was still in the package, but still I got the Reissue for a penny. I feel a great amount of joy, also minicons are $3.00 at my Wal-mart they say $.00 on them but ring up as $3.00. Hopefully I will find the Silverstreak they had floating around sometime too, I assume they found this guy when they were changing the shelves around again. Here is the receipt. http://s72.photobucket.com/albums/i186/jestermon1982/?action=view¤t=receipt.jpg&refPage=&imgAnch=imgAnch1
Wish they were that cheap when they came out. Might have bought a few more. Anyways, congrats, that was a steal! NOTE: Remember to save that receipt!
Dude, that is so funny. I wonder what the EX stands for on the receipt in front of the description? Maybe that has something to do with the price.
The scary thing is, I could totally see a shelf full of Targetmaster Ricochet at my local TRU, all marked down to one penny, and STILL not going anywhere. Actually that can't really happen, because if they were marked down to one cent, I would buy them all.
Oh, suck! You lucky pig. And that's the Morrow, GA TRU too! I live in Lawrenceville and only get down to there about once every few months. Last I was there, they had some of the Energon 2-packs I wanted bad, but they still hadn't been clearanced. They had a couple with Energon Jetfire that I should have gone ahead and bought one because I wanted him so bad. My cheapest scores ever at a large retail joint were Reissue Grapple for $2 at TRU in Duluth, GA, and Alt Swindle for $4 at the Collins Hill Walmart in Lawrenceville.
