So is the RID line mostly done at this point?

Robots in Disguise (2015) was launched at the end of 2014/beginning of 2015. It's had the usual one-and-a-half year run by now, with a subline imprint refresh ("Mini-Con Weaponizers") introduced in 2016.

Some assortments were struggling and never saw full distribution for all waves at general retail in the US:

Waves 3 and 4 of the Mini-Con single packs were available internationally and from US-based online retailers but ultimately didn't come out at US brick and mortar retail until many, many months later, and then only at discounters. The follow-up assortment, "Mini-Con Weaponizers", has two confirmed waves which are currently only available internationally.

The third and final wave of the Mini-Con Deployers (Crazybolt/Hammer) was available internationally but wasn't even stocked by US-based online retailers until many months later. It's still pending any form of release at US brick and mortar retail.

    What else is still missing?

Three-Step Changers waves 7 (Stealthasaurus Rex Grimlock) and 8 (Energon Boost Bumblebee, orange Drift) have been available internationally for a while now but weren't even listed for preorder by US-based online retailers until much later. The're expected to arrive in stock around September/October. Wave 9 (Bisk) has been revealed at SDCC but has thus far only been listed by a UK-based retailer (and then delisted again).

Wave 7 of the Warriors (Power Surge Optimus Prime, Windblade and Scorponok) is available internationally and expected to arrive in stock at US-based online retailers soon. Wave 8 (Ratchet, Bisk and Quillfire) was revealed at BotCon and is currently listed for preorder by US-based online retailers, expected to arrive in stock around September.

And that's it, apparently. There's not been any further leak, store listing or accidental reveal via the RID mobile game. So either Hasbro is planning another push with new waves which they have managed to keep completely under wraps, or that's it for the RID line.

Nope, they're not allowed until I have a Thundercracker made from Starscream.

More to the point, doesn't it just depend on whether the cartoon gets renewed for another season?

It's the other way around. The show gets renewed for another season if the toyline sells well. That's how it works.

Personally, I'm ready for something new.

Not really... the networks in the USA won't put on a show if it's not getting viewers, regardless of the merchandising money Hasbro's getting. I mean, you're right that Hasbro won't finance the show if the toys don't sell to expectations, but ultimately the continuation of the show is down to the networks.

Yeah, good luck with that

Didn't we get news that a new season is upcoming and therefore naturally a continuation of the toyline also ?

I really hope it's winding down. It seems like they're fully into repaint territory now, so it's time for something new. Of course, the next movie line is around the corner, so it'll be a competition to see what line peg-warms the most.

Yay, another show I wouldn't have any interest in.

I don't think so. There's still the occasional hint at the show continuing, and they wouldn't still be making the show if they weren't still making toys for it. We might just have to wait awhile for more news.

Something kinda G1ish that starts really well, then becomes almost unwatchable? TF Prime was close enough for me.

we've got a 3rd season and a "finale movie" on the way. my guess, we've got the upcoming Windblade wave (which will most likely hit round Holiday season) and 1 more (spring 2017) and then the line will be smothered in it's bed with it's own pillow by the Movie we'll probably see 3 waves of movie tie in product, with SDCC 2017 showing us a trailer for the next cartoon.

alternately, Hasbro could pull a ROTF/HFTD and keep the movieline going with original offscreen characters (in lieu of a new cartoon) to hold the line until the Bumblebee solo movie

Dear God please no. As much as I enjoy some of the IDW stuff, if Combiner Wars is any sign its that it won't translate well at all. Also I'm pretty sure a VERY small portion of people would have any interest in it.

I really hope the series ends soon. It started out good, but it's attempt at trying to be different from Prime failed miserably because it embraced Prime, and the toyline continues to look more and more uninteresting.

All Transformers shows last three seasons, if they want to do a fourth well too bad because they're canceled. And we do have a Season 3 on the way (Yay!). And there were those social media postings suggesting a Season 4 (but we all know that won't happen).

Honestly I'd be okay with them just releasing 8 waves of Warriors, cause once I find Paralon, Windblade and Scorponok come in to stock, and my pre-order for Wave 8 is filled out I'm only in for the third season. They are going to have to really try to keep me interested in the line cause Titans Return is taking all the money right now.

    Aka ME.

I think things will be quiet for a while. When the show starts up again more stuff will start appearing. That's how it was before season 2 started, if I recall correctly.

I guess we'll find out for sure at NYCC.

I certainly hope not, especially since at least 26 more episodes plus a movie have been confirmed for 2016-2017.

Second half of S2 is airing in October.

With the impending release of the new season, the movie and the hints at season 4, making it all but confirmed I find it unlikely that the line will end just yet. I personally want it to go longer so I can get warrior Saberhorn... also, I thought that there would be an equal amount of waves in the rebranding, in my mind, that is what would make sense, or else why rebrand it at all?

    Rescue Bots says Hello.

They're on their fourth season and unlike many prior shows, each season has had 26 episodes. When episode 21 of this season airs, it will become the longest running TF show.

I would have thought Hasbro would keep it around for another year at least? Dickie Toys have bought the TF NuRID licence and have only just released a bunch of NuRID toys and I would have thought the Dickie Toys license would have depended on Hasbro themselves keeping the IP active for the duration?

IE, 'if we're going to bring out a bunch of our toys based on your larger brand, you'd better keep that brand going while we try to get our money back.'

it's not IDW's fault that Machinima's Combiner Wars is terrible.

Uh. Guys MTMTE is heavily G1 inspired, light hearted and sitcom-like and other times much more serious. It would Translate well, darker stuff toned down.
