I see your point, but the focus of this line is on Headmasters. Besides, at least we are getting remakes of the characters in some form instead of none at all. And at least they look accurate unlike say CW Blast Off.

Hey, you know how we never got Computron during Combiner Wars and everybody and their mother was ranting up and down the walls over how stupid Hasbro was for not doing the last cartoon-shown combin-

Oh, wait, they did make Computron? With the Takara Groove retool?

Wow, it's almost like they don't flood the market with nothing but the G1 homage/updates/whatever to keep business going and instead save those for later release. Seriously, absence of evidence - in this case evidence that Hasbro will never do more *masters in TR - is NOT evidence of absence.

That and we've known for months that Triggerhappy is in the works for next year from the deco slide leaks - which have been confirmed by seeing multiple other figures from these slides being revealed in full at CybCon.
[IMG]Seriously, chill out. These are plastic toys, even if Hasbro doesn't make ALL of the 87 masters it's not like the world will end given thirty years until now those figures didn't exist anyway.
With CW Blast Off it was damned if you do, damned if you don't as far as which head to use - they'd already retooled the head once and CW was all about maximizing retool efficency. They either could go for the faceplate but give him distinct eyes, or they could go for the visor and paint his face like the faceplate so at a distance it kinda sorta still works as a faceplate.

I don't mind them having done it to targetmasters and powermasters, but it shouldn't have gone further than that.

Oh yea, I didn't think about that. On that note, shouldn't you maybe wait to complain until after you found out how Takara is handling the Targetmasters?

I still think they should have used Fireflight's head if they couldn't retool it.

If the focus of the line is HEADMASTERS, then change the name from Titans return to Headmasters return, Titans return is misleading, suggesting they could incorporate ALL, AGAIN, ALL MASTERS, HEAD OR OTHERWISE. I am not knocking blurr or scourge or prime or even the astrotrain ect ect, I am just saying The real Target Masters , and real power masters should be such. or else change the name.

Fortress Maximus is a Titan hence the Return. It's also tied to an ongoing comic event (media tie ins sell more product).

By your logic though Transformers Prime should have only featured Primes.

Yes 'Masters' have historically been divided into head, target, power etc.

    But that is history.

There are plenty of historical and (no doubt) incoming options to sate desire for transforming guns. I've still got a bunch of PCC minicons who can fill that slot if needed and no doubt some enterprising third party will release their own targetmasters to satisfy OCD fans looking for G1 accuracy.

It's not that what you said is un-true. It's more a case of not seeing the forest because of all the trees.

Useless, 1st world problems, at least I bought the mastershooters 3rd party guns now I can utilise them. Cant tell me they cant do it, they just don't WANT to do it, i.e. Cyclonus classics cames with a target master, so did scoop, and needlenose, spinister SO IT CAN BE DONE!!! They are just too silly to do it. SILLY as far as TITANS RETURNS HAVING FORT MAX...GREAT, BUT IS TRYPTICON GOING TO BE A HEADMASTER TOO? LOL that's silly. I am not against T.R., I am glad we are getting some needed characters, but don't insult a true fans intelligence! TRIGGERHAPPY, HES A WHA? OH BROTHER! I STILL REMEMBER AND DONT DENY WHAT HE WAS AND WHAT I WASNT SMOKIN' ON FEBURARY 8TH 1988! I am not stupid Hasbro, you made target masters before not even 6 years ago, hell not even 3 months ago, lazy and silly. Combiner wars, NOT EVERY BOT COMBINED, Megs, Starscream and jets, Ultra magnus ect.,ect., sooo does every bot in T.R. Have head removal? Geeze first world problems, and I haven't got anything better to talk about, except how cool T.R. Astrotrain is...good god that thing really is bad ass! Alpha Trion is sweet too!! GIVE us a QUAKE HASBRO, 2 OUT OF 3 AINT BAD!! 3 IS BETTER!!

Theres something called mods which can make them transform with their heads on btw also Your realize trypticon isn't going to be an headmaster cause full tilt is also the gimmick isn't that bad as long it doesn't effect negatively

I guess I don't get the "X has never been a Y before" argument, period. This is a toy line about robots that change.

It seems antithetical to the core of the premise to suggest that any character should only be this way or that.

You know, sitting here and looking at my new Impactor which now COMBINES I just realized we didn't have this problem when Combiner Wars hit and we had those two Autobot waves or even now with Fun Pub's Mayhem Attack Squad.

It was always, GOD HOW DARE HASBRO MAKE OPTIMUS A COMBINER. THIS IS NOT G1 ACCURATE. WHEELJACK & IRONHIDE LOOK LIKE SHIT. Etc. Etc.

And people like me who were as content as we are with them making guys like Galvatron headmasters sat in the darkness and appreciated the figures in silence. At least I'm happy to have a CHUG Ironhide, Hound, Impactor, Bludgeon, etc. As I am having a CHUG Galvatron, Alpha Trion, etc.

Because the "diehard" fans who demand accuracy don't know any characters beyond the handful that *everybody* knows.

Also, it's kinda funny people are super pissed about Galvatron being a Headmaster when the characterization they're using is based on the same IDW continuity that's producing many of these new characters and forms the same people argue aren't G1.

Just like typical fans of any wildly popular franchise, we all love Transformers.

We all have certain expectations on who our beloved characters should be personality wise, what they should look like, etc.

But in order for the franchise that we love to remain viable and sustain it's success some change is necessary. One of the main things that kills off franchises is for them to remain stagnant.

Titans Return is another one of those examples. It represents change. It takes some of our most beloved characters and puts an extremely fun new twist on them.

It may not be for everone and it doesn't have to be. But, I think Titans Return is a great thing.

Yeah, I'm in the boat as these two. I'm not getting of the HM Titan Masters in general, but I'd prefer them G1 characters that weren't HM, to not be HMs. It's cool if you like them though.

I'm kinda diehard and read all the IDW comics (sans Bayverse).

I like updated/new models, but there are certain characteristics from my G1 nostalgia that I'd like to keep.

Ex, Blurr being a floating/future car, but a 4 wheeled Drift remold. So I didn't get the latter.

But the G1 HMs were a niche group for me, I don't want all these characters HMs.

When it comes to IDW Galvatron, which characteristics are being used that he'd be anti-HM that weren't G1? Maybe I'm misunderstanding this analogy?

Between not getting the character and getting a forced headmaster gimmick to fit in with the series, i'd go for the forced gimmick.

My main issue with taking characters who were not meant to be Headmasters and forcing the gimmick on them is that in cases such as Galvatrona and Scourge, their head designs do not accommodate the feature. So you end up with Galvatron wearing a mask and unable to move his head without the mask popping off and a Scourge with a fat head (which is also very loose and wobbly on mine) and tiny crest.

I also have a problem with them being called 'Titan masters'. I thought Titans were the giants like Metroplex and Trypticon? Not tiny nubulans?
