**As befitting his nature Lockdown's alt "borrows" from several sources; the base car takes the front of a 1960s Cougar and the rear of a 1980s Corvette. Averaged the length of the two.**

Mind you, that Lockdown puts the entire length of the car into his legs alone, adds another half car length for the torso, then has a humongous neck on top of all that just to make absolute sure he'd Voyager height.

How does the KBB Hound scale with some of the other movies toys like 2007 and ROTF in Robot mode?

 

You're also discounting the size difference between the two vehicles. The Aventador is 20% smaller heightwise against a 1960's Cougar, among being generally smaller in the other dimensions as well.

Then ROTF/Animated Lockdown via maximizing the length of their alt mode, with the legs running the entire length of the vehicle and utilizing a giraffe like neck for height. AoE Lockdown in his only real clear transformation sequence (I'd hyperlink it to a YouTube clip, but the boards keep wanting to embed the video instead) is essentially a movie-ized G1 Sideswipe transformation.

Not that it really matters, most of the Bayformers size cheat at some point anyway and Starscream despite everything still has to shrink big time.

 

oh yeah, animated and rotf lockdown do but a corvette is considerably bigger than an aventador. plus aoe lockdown transforms nothing like the previous two versions.

 

you can attach the hand kibble (doors) to his thighs in robot mode.

obviously, his thighs suffer but overall he looks much nicer than the original.

Hasbro really ****ed up with all that hand kibble in AOE figures  

 

He fails to scale with all other movie toys even with KBB AOE Leader prime and KBB bumblebee in robot mode. KBB hound is approximately 27cm tall and this situation is similar to that of leader DOTM Optimus and leader DOTM Ironhide, we have to crouch down ironhide so to make him look shorter than prime.

 

The toy designers for DOTM have much more heart!!
Leader Starscream leader ironhide is very beautiful! Many DOTM toys have good looking in both car mode and robot mode! AOE toy designers just focus on the looking of car mode, what a pity and so f***ed up. There are many things they can do but yet not done by hasbro. For example KBB Optimus can remove his big big f***ing back pad easily in robot mode.

 

Besides the arm kibble removed in those pics of the ko. The poster seems to have added leg extensions between the knees and thighs to make his legs longer.

 

Haha! Yes, I added leg extensions below the knees. The robot mode of the toys have a big upper body like voyager class, so what we need is to make it taller. It changes from 18cm to 22cm finally

 

You may not realize it, but it's the exact same people designing for both lines; in fact most Transformers are engineered by the same small group of people for the last few decades, every line, every product, from RID Minicons to Masterpiece, same engineers.

The differences come in product focus, budget, time, and other x factors.

 

Pretty sure I read that the designers were changed between DOTM and AoE.

 

I actually dont mind if hes bigger then ROTF Prime and the Voyagers from that line,hes a big military truck after all.

 

In robot mode Hound is still shorter than KBB AOE Leader Optimus and black apple M01 optimus, we can display them together

 

How did you make leg extensions? Were they parts from another figure? Also how did you customize this, like the chest and body, Its honestly so amazing.

 

Can you possibly share with us how those leg extensions were made? Just got mine today and I did realize he's a bit short. I appreciate the help. Thanks!

 

Even then, they go for Bot mode scale moreso than bot mode.
