I have recessed lighting in my basement, the bulbs are small, indoor floodlights, soft white, 45 watt (310 lumens) hooked up to a dimmer. I have some figures loose and some in box on top of my detolfs that are about 1-2 feet under the lights. I usually keep the lights at about 50% bright, but my wife cranks up the lighting when she is in the basement.
I know about natural sunlight causing problems, so my question is, can this light source cause any discoloration to vintage figures? Vintage boxes? Or MP packaging including high gloss boxes from FT or clear plastic packaging from the MP seekers from Walmart?

Well. For the last 2 years my MP boxes have been expose to sunlight no noticeable diffrence in color. I know a lot of members use light strips.

I am constantly moving boxes and figures...I sometimes put some large boxed items on top of the detolfs, under the recessed lighting in the ceiling...sometimes loose figures. I just don't have any room until I get a few more detolfs or some other display set up for the adjacent wall.
