A few days ago, I saw some rumors of a running change made for Generations Combiner Wars Scattershot.

I checked my nearest store to take some photos, and yes, they made a change to the Combiner head's joint.

NOTE: This change will NOT be featured in the Unite Warriors release of the toy (and possibly the Hasbro version of the Computron box set.).

What am I looking at? I have my own Scattershot right in front of me, and the only difference I can see in these photos is a different placement for the clear rubber tie holding the figure in place inside the packaging.

What are we looking at? I can't see the difference.

LOL if the 'running change' is the placement of the band holding it in the package. #MISBcollectorsCare

Maybe my eyes are deceiving me, but is the plastic made to be thicker around the hinge? That's really all I can see as different.

It's a poor angle to see it but, if I may add to the OPs indication with this altered pic, I've seen this mentioned in another thread but I can't remember where unfortunately otherwise I would credit that poster - the later editions of Scattershot appear to have been re-engineered with an additional triangular (cross-section, here we are looking at the 'top' of it) 'wedge' of plastic at the section that has become renowned for snapping.

I think the blue paint is slightly more extensive on the latter, completely wrapping around the hinge instead of just being on the front?

EDIT: OH okay, now I see it.

What you can see there is in fact the 'wedge' closing that unpainted gap.

    How do you know that?

This is a nice touch, actually. Kind of takes away the stress of trying to combine it. Hopefully the boxed set version has the same fix, which I think remains to be seen at the moment.

I don't even know how it would be possible for someone to snap that piece unless you're forcing it on purpose.

Unless you cut off the tabs on the inside of the mold's chest, it'll break over time just from being transformed. On my Silverbolt the chest piece is hanging on by a thread, I almost never transform him out of torso mode now as a result.

I guess that depends on how you transform him, whether you simply pull out the combiner head, or flip the standard robot head forward and push the combiner head out from the inside.

It was thought that this would be the case for UW Cyclonus, but he has the reinforced chest piece. I wouldn't be surprised if UW Scattershot does, too.
