Not a Transformer, but I had ordered an iPod for my daughter for her birthday a couple of years back, and the box was delivered empty. The shipper was in the mailbox, but it had been opened and the device removed.
I immediately went to the post office to file a report, then contacted Amazon to let them know what happened.
The next day, Amazon over-nighted a new iPod, and the temporary postal carrier that covered the route that day lost their job.

Thanks for sharing your stories. I'm glad to know i'm not the only person to experience package theft. :)

Earlier I reordered Vortex from Amazon and chose 2 day delivery. I hope all goes well.
and my CW Groove is on it's way from BBTS as well.

Here's to hoping both packages arrive safely this time. :)

Never happened to me. Luckily my grandma lives across the street and all of my mailmen know to leave it with her if I'm not home (which is usually the case). My other neighbors have also recieved my mail with no issues.

The one time I had package theft, it was several years ago, and it was a box of checks! Idiot postal carrier delivered it to the townhouse next door apparently.

Luckily, I had the bank change my account numbers and void the checks out before I had an issue there, but they sure started writing them out!

Police were also notified, since it was a box of 200. When the calls started coming in, they were given the data, and a couple weeks later the guy next door was arrested after using one at a store with a video camera. Grand total of checks written put him in felony territory.

We live in a rural city in Wisconsin now, and have a side by side duplex. My wife is a stay home mom, too. Plus the tenant in the other half is a good friend. So, we always watch out for each other's deliveries. What makes me furious, though, is the carriers never knock! We have an excessively twitchy Huskie and if someone even taps on the neighbors door, he barks. So, they aren't even knocking. But, we live in a small neighborhood, and our doors are concealed by the garages, because of the way they sit on the front of the property. But they leave them out there in all weather! Pisses me off! I even built a nice box by the door big enough to fit anything we would order in, and they refuse to bother to put it there. They'll sure as hell set it on top though!

Last year, I was eagerly waiting and tracking my package online until it was "out for delivery". The entire workday ended but no package. When I checked tracking online, it was "delivered" and signed by a name I didn't recognize. After some phone calls to the carrier, it turned out the driver had gave it to the wrong address. It was delivered to a factory on the same street but on the other side of town. The mail room person must've signed for countless packages daily so they don't even bother to verify names.

So there was no theft involved, just a careless delivery person.

This is a good discussion. Thankfully I live way out in the woods. So I don't have to worry about items left on my porch by the mailman or UPS getting stolen. But I can see how this could easily be a problem for my fellow collector's that live in heavily populated areas.

The worst I had ever faced was when a "friend" decided to steal my pretty much new Tracks. I ended up finding out that it was him when he was caught with two of my WWF toys and lied to his Mom about how he had obtained them... In front of me.

However... If this did happen to me, I would spend more time making them pay for the replacement and other punitive damages if they chose to give me excuses instead of results. Because unless they can provide evidence that it was shipped to said location, and somebody stole it, they are responsible for the mistakes made by their carriers.

Then again, it took me nearly a year to ever trust FedEx. And I ended up switching because I did have equal issues with both the UPS and USPS. :p
