    Although I was always open to him being a military communications vehicle, if that wasn't an option.

    Hasbro gets it. In the Generations and Masterpiece lines, that's what Soundwave has pretty much been...one or the other.

    I always thought it would have been cool if the movie Barricade was actually Soundwave...the way Barricade was portrayed in the film kind of gave me a Soundwave vibe.
    I like that he was a drone/jet in TFP...otherwise I would see Soundwave as some sort of electronic warfare aircraft like an S-3 Viking, or EA-6B Prowler...heck even the new EA-18 Growler. It would make sense, and also put him in the same size class as the other seekers.

    Some form of audio gadgetry. He could be a pseudo-combiner made from a pair of headphones, an MP3 player, and a wireless speaker. And I was always fond of the idea of the cassettes as jump drives/memory sticks.

    Ha! That would be awesome! In all honestly, I'd love a TF line that focused on going backwards and giving us older technology and vehicles. But yeah, my vote will always be tape deck.

    Tape Deck. Make kids learn some tech history. Not sure why they insist on every alt mode be modern. Mix in some older alt modes.
