Hello - Im selling my transformers collection (Not getting out of collecting but downsizing) but Im noticing things are not moving as they used to. I ised to sell my items to transformerland, who has given me pretty much a good deal everytime I reach them. However I dont know if they are out of business or something, because havent answered my emails. So, I put together a thread in the Junkyard, but its not moving. Yes, Ive sold some things here and there, but I would like to sell these figures once and for all (Even at a loss, I know they are not made of gold) Beside ebay, what could I do to sell the lot faster?
I think part of the problem may be that you're located outside the US, and I'm assuming that US buyers wouldn't want to pay the international shipping (your prices are pretty good, otherwise. I'm also assuming that most members on this board are located in the US. You might have to take a loss on some of your figures. I've had figures on my sales thread for awhile, at arguably great prices (as I watch them sell on eBay for much more) and I don't get any interest. Even if it's a good deal, if people already have the figure, they're not gonna bite. I recommend eBay. I know you said "beside eBay", but that's your best bet. Is there a local collectables shop? I take boxes of figures to the shop by me as my last resort. When they don't sell here or on eBay, and I really need the space/cash, I'll go there and get a few bucks per figure. Do BBTS and TFSource still buy collections?
Im selling a little of everything (From G1 to Generations) and its been dificult to even get offers on them (I have a link to my sale thread at the bottom). I just read a topic on how the MP surge has changed everything tf related, its like everybody is dumping generations and getting into MP.
GuardianPrime, check his/her signature for a link to the sales thread. As for how to sell things faster, the obvious thing would be to lower the prices. As you said, sometimes you take a loss. But remember that you (hopefully) got years of enjoyment out of them, so it's not as if the lack of profit was for nothing.
Gigangoji, thanks for your advise. I offer free shipping most of the time to override the overseas issue, so who knows... BBTS is not buying anymore, TF Source is, maybe I go to them if I cant reach Matt at transformerland.com Psychoshi: Im willing to take a loss, just want to get some space and $ back.
If you have a Facebook account you can join trade and sell Transformer groups such as this one - https://www.facebook.com/groups/388193031234768/?ref=bookmarks
