6 is the magic number for me, a show accurate character every two months, to be precise. What's yours?

Ideally....2 A-listers, one big, one small(where applicable), 2 B-listers, one big, one small and C-Z listers again, one big, one small with repaints sprinkled in between them.

It looks like you can't win with TF fans, eh? You give them too few releases, they bitch, you give them many, they still bitch.:lol

I made this thread because I've been surprisingly overwhelmed by the plethora of releases from TT in the last 4 months, I collect third party as well, and in addition to those purchases my tally by the beginning of May will be a whopping 7 figures, that's more than my combined haul from the last two years. And to think I have three figures left to buy later this year!?  I've found it quite exhausting, really...also on my wallet, the rapid releases means I also have less time to appreciate figures, something I realise I used to do more of in between releases.

So....what's your magic number and why?

Six is about right for me too, though I could do with just two big bots a year. But I don't mind if that number goes up to 8, if 2 - 3 of those releases include characters from outside of the main G1 storyline. Like if TT decides to do more Victory and Beast Wars MPs.

Six would work for me IF and only if they were new molds. I really don't consider diaclone repaints as new bots, so I usually avoid them. I didn't get Clampdown and won't be getting Delta Magnus. Basically, if it's not on the G1 toon, I avoid like the plague. To each their own, though.

I'd be good with a release schedule of one item per month, with a little more regularity than we currently have:

    1) Large new mold
    2) Repaint/retool new character
    3) Reissue
    4) Small new mold
    5) Repaint/retool existing character (Plus series, alternate deco)
    6) Reissue

Do this twice a year and I'd be *very* happy with the pace of the line.

My ideal is 1 MP every month with 6 being new molds (every other month) and the other 6 being
repaints/retools/diaclone/reissues in the off months. People obviously wouldn’t have to buy 1 every month since not everyone would need/want the reissues or diaclone and may not want to try and get a complete 84/85/86 lineup.

My ideal schedule (give or take):

    2017/18 Finish 1984 carbots/minibots/megatron/reflector
    2019/20 Devastator and 1986 movie Galv/Scourge/Cyclonus/Arcee/Kup/Blurr
    2021/22 Skids/perceptor/blaster/blitz/astro/Springer/Wheelie/Jetfire/minbots
    2023/24 Superion/Menasor/Insectcons
2025/26 6 minibots Dinobots Omega Supreme
    2027/28 Defensor/Bruticus/couple minibots
2029/xx Any cleanup needed for 85/86 non-combiners and minibots
2030/31 Entire Transformers Prime Cast for the 20th anniversary

2032: Retire from TF Collecting and Enjoy!

Maybe 3 new moulds a year? That would give the production team 4 months to develop/manufacture and create the best toy we could hope to recieve for the price. Right now TakTom are cranking them out and it's obvious certain things (Ramjet QA, chrome, etc) have fallen by the wayside.

I would love two a month like we just had with Shockwave and Ramjet. A more realistic goal would be one per month with a mix of new molds and repaints.

I'd prefer the 3-4 per year. I have other collections and financial responsibilities, which makes it hard to keep up sometimes. That, along with the few 3P figures I buy here and there keep my toy budget maxed.

3 unique new molds per year is what they've been doing.

(I consider Ironhide a 2015 toy that got pushed back to the following year just like Soundwave did, and if you don't count cassettes)

And since I only want one of any mold and do not appreciate repaints in any way, that means I get 3 per year, tops. And I can do a bit more than that.

At once point Hasui said they would shoot for 4 per year - 2 larger and 2 smaller. That'd be nice. Hell, if Inferno comes out this year that'd make it the first time they've ever hit that goal, and I'd be pleased as punch just to get that.

    I think between 8 & 10 would be super,and in these numbers:

Biggies: 2 to 3 Leader Types
    Midsize: 1 or 2 Ironhide/Ratchet size
    Carbots: 2
Repaints or Remolds: 2 at the most

6 MP's per year is tops for my preference. The beginning of this year has been exhausting with all of the characters coming out, and the QA/QC has dipped a notch. I also wouldn't mind seeing more MP's of the smaller characters like Minibots and Insecticons.

I also prefer toy-accurate deccos of the show characters, so I'm starting to skip some repaints like the Diaclone variants as well as the upcoming anime Red Alert repaint. Although if my budget allows, I'll still pick up a repaint that I like. For example I couldn't resist G2 Sideswipe on sale since he looks so svelte in black!

Not sure what I completely think about non-G1 MPs just yet. I picked up Star Saber since he's Japanese G1 and I didn't have any other good representations of the character. I have G2 Sideswipe and Bumblebee, but they're basically recolors of G1 characters. I also have three Diaclone car repaints, and although I like them (and may sell them), I don't think I want to keep getting more. However, I've been on the fence with MP Optimus Primal, and haven't pre-ordered him yet. Compared to what we've gotten so far, he is a pretty unique MP , which has some appeal. He looks good and I like the character, but I'm not sure I want to go down the MP Beast Wars route.
