Has anyone encountered this? This is how mine came.... They can sit straight if the red panels are removed or loosed, but otherwise point up when shut. Here they are straight but not closed. Not quite sure how to cure it other than with a shim between screw and panel.... (Posted here as the MP24 thread is closed and the QC thread seems very quiet now!) In related news, I suggest storing the mini pommel/hilt in the gun hole on his back, or in the rear crotch hole (ass?) - although handle up, or he looks 'rude'
I don't know how they managed that, it's like they got the angle of the screw wrong somehow or miscast the barrel or panel. Or maybe they just got bent during assembly. Can you take close up pics of the inside of the panel?
Seems to be the panel. It appears to be pushing down the back of the canon. I imagine you could modify the hole the canon sticks through, but that means damaging the figure.
Right, it seems that my red panels MAY have suffered some exuberant ham fisted over tightening when assembled originally. Here you can see the amount of mis-alignment with the panels down: You can see the screw which holds the panel in place: With the screw loosened, the gun almost aligns.... Panel off - the gun clearly is designed to sit straight...you can also see the groove by the screw hole designed to take a plastic "tube" that the screw would be in... Inside of the panel, screw removed. Note damage...I think this hole was actually the "tube" with a hole, and the tube has been mangled... With a test shim applied, but screw not fully tight. I used a bit of wire as it can "give" when tightened. The "shim" - held in place with a spot of glue. Both guns "shimmed". Much better than before - not perfect, but better! I might email TT and ask for replacement panels
Ewww! To be fair, he's mostly going to be in robot mode on the shelf, and you can't see the problem there - it's just an annoyance! I've posted on TT's FB page but it looks like they moderate, and I can't see an email address. Might need to wait for a "spares or repair" on to hit fleabay!
Sorry - to be a bit more clear (I'm working remotely) - I'd be really keen if a willing MP24 owner could open their unit shoulder/cannons up as I have, and see if theirs have a raised hole for the screw, unlike my damaged one? (photos useful!) Be careful however that the screw is hard to get at with the shoulder open, and there is a risk of taking the black paint off the screw. You'll be ok if you're careful though Maybe an enterprising person with a 3D scanner/printer could run up a replacement? (now there's wishful thinking!)
Hey, I stumbled on this thread and noticed that nobody has answered your question here. In case you haven't already gotten this answered elsewehere, yes, there is a raised post on the inside of the shoulder flap that the screw for the cannon goes into. It's tall enough that I didn't even have to remove the screw to see it. I took a pic of it, but I'm at work and don't really have time to figure out how to post it here. But if you want to give me your email address, I can send it to you. Hope this helps.
With my Starsaber how do you get the small ship to attach to the big one, and have it "click in" I saw it somewhere but forgot what thread it was and didn't want to have dig through it between all the postings.
Seems the enterprising d-bags that make KO's have KO'd Starsaber, and the slanted guns are one of the tells: Transformers News Reviews Movies Comics and Toys - TFormers.com You may have a KO.
It's possible based on some shading on the feet, but other than the gun slant mine is quite en par. The box is flawless and I'm quite impressed otherwise!
Going back to those KO pics, given I don't read Kanji, is the KO on the left, or right? Or both? My Saber jet does have "points" rather than cones in the jets, and Brainmasters knees have a thin white line between the yellow kneecap and the blue thigh, the gun angle, and the chrome on the main blade has some bobbling. EDIT: Figured that out - KO is on the left. Mine is a KO, albeit a good one. Will have to decide if I'm bothered enough to get a proper one - I like supporting TT, but MP24 was a "ah well" buy rather than "Must have!".
