Hey guys I got to say I had a nerd awakening I guess you could say this past week or two. I think I might have discussed this before about playing with G1 toys and weather or not its "right" to do so in the sense that are they still toys or collectables by this point. In high school I started to stop using my G1 figures for anything because I did not want to risk them becoming broken or in worse condition. I would say I started getting G1 toys a little bit in elementary school and more so in middle school from Ebay and would use them in my adventures. Then like I said I kind of stopped. Also I really haven't played with my Transformers toys in the past two years anyways. I mean I still was tinkering with with and posing them but not long drawn out battles with stories I would right down like I was making a ongoing story with continuity. Mostly because I been busy with work/school/now college/ and crap like that and also since I am growing its hard for me to lay on the ground now and not run out of space.

Anyways I got G1 Springer for my 19th birthday two weeks ago and since then I have decided F IT! My G1 toys can be played with. The reason why is a good amount of them are in crappy condition anyways that they are not worth selling for money and I would only ever sell them if my life depended on it as a almost last resort. So might as well enjoy them! Out of most of my G1s the only ones in great shape are Bluestreak and Brawn probably. Brawn can take it anyways so Bluestreak will be the one that I will be careful with. My Sideswipe lose and does not have anything same with Cliffjumper, Mirage, Sunstreaker, and so on! So yea if I get the time again my G1 crew will be in the action!

Point is what are your thoughts again on G1 toys and which ones you would play and not play with and for what reasons. I think I discussed this awhile ago but lets continue.

Who cares what they're worth. They're still toys. They should be played with.

I transform my G1 toys occasionally. Some of them have been destroyed because of it. They're old it's bound to happen to your entire collection if you mess with them enough.

That's part of the reason I never look for the "perfect figure". No figure is perfect. They all have slight flaws. Just enjoy them while you can.

That's why G1 reissues still sell....when they're reasonably priced, of course.

The only G1 toy I'm afraid to transform is my Monstructor because I'm afraid he'll crumble to dust because of GPS. Otherwise, I try to transform them to get different looking displays as often as I can.

Plus, transforming them is also a good way to keep the dust away.

With Hasbro giving more recognition to the collector market, could they reconsider recreating some of the lost G1 molds? I'd like to see new reissues of the lost Autobot cars: Sunstreaker, Mirage, and Wheeljack at an affordable price. I also wonder if they still have the Omnibot molds. This may just be wishful thinking as the last commemorative series reissues at TRU didn't seem to sell very well, or were there just some particularly notorious shelfwarmers in the series?

I would love a re-issue set of Omnibots! I was fond of Downshift and Camshaft for having different transformations than the main line of Autobot cars.

I have no problem transforming re-issues or floppy originals. If you bought a minty G1 original at a significant price, I'd say protect your investment and leave it alone.

They may not be able to reissue certain ones due to potential licensing issues, but they need to remake the Dinobot molds and reissue them. Seriously, free money, Hasbro.

When I was diehard G1 collector(MP & 3P now) I had a pretty respectable Arc/Nemesis collection and I played the shit out of them. I was cautious and didn't beat them around, but I bent every joint, rolled the around, you name it. My MP/3P guys live now in a curio on display, but I still bust them out. What's the point in having them if you're not going to enjoy them like ya should!?!

I'd like more Ehobby style repaints of G1 toys as new characters like Drift from Springer.

    Hot Rod retooled from Sideswipe.

    Getaway from Boss
