Thinking about making a team of cast-offs for either CW Cyclonus or UW Grand Scourge since I already have CW Off Road. Now that we've seen good color pictures of UW Bruticus, CW Vortex is so different he seems like he could easily be a different character.

Anyone got any thoughts on some more obscure say, Micromasters or Late G1 Japanese or something that'd make sense/be a good fit for those two?

Even Minicons or G2 guys' do....

Man, if hounds head wasn't cast in green you could easily kit bash e-Hobby Detritus from him and Swindle...

Personally I would paint blastoff into skyshadow and paint vortex purple with yellow.

I just made them new guys. Alpha Bravo, Rook, and Offroad don't have previously existing characterizations either.

I've been calling Blastoff "Rip Off"- which has the benefit of resembling his actual name, thematically fits nicely with "Offroad," sounds suitable for a Decepticon, and is apt since he didn't get a unique head sculpt unlike nearly every other CW toy.

I don't have CW Vortex but if I did I'd probably call him Yankee Zulu, Alpha Bravo's evil twin.

Honestly I don't see how Vortex is so different that he doesn't look like Vortex. AB's mold always looked like Vortex and the colors (aside from the missile arms being all yellow and even THEN it's loosely evocative of his G1 toy stickers).
Blastoff's easy; Shattered Glass Slingshot. Vortex if you're REALLY intent on repurposing could likewise be a Shattered Glass Alpha Bravo.

Well, Armada Thrust is coming with UW grand Galvatron, but Blackout from Vortex is a nice choice! Decent deco for him...

What I was meaning is, Unite Warriors Vortex will be Vortex, but his and CW Vortex's decos are so different that he could be repurposed too my "misfit team" which I'll hopefully fill out with one of the guys from TFSS 4.0

Vortex as Grindor (rather than Blackout, since blackout was a more blueish grey)
    Blastoff as minicon Gunbarrel

Or, Vortex as Battletrap and Blast Off as Fly Wheels (although the brown one was the tank, but...)

Either of the movie copter cons work for vortex, honestly I might actually use TT blastoff as someone else, I know the alt mode is wrong but hasbros blastoff actually looks nicer so far.

Ive been thinking the same thing except i want to use BC Prime for my Rejecticon. The mold sucks, but i like how the combiner deco would be primary white an blackish and how he would be made up of Autobots and Decepticons: seems fitting for a post-war world.

Like Billzilla said just treat them as original characters: i call Blast-off Lift-off, BC Prime obviously becomes Thunderclash with the reprolabels though.

I was never into the Collector Club story or line but CW Blast Off would make a good Shattered Glass Slingshot/Quickslinger. By the same token, I think of CW Alpha Bravo as Shattered Glass Vortex. They just got stuck in the regular TF-verse and switched sides accordingly.

yeah, i think Shattered Glass is a pretty absurd concept, so don't really want to go that route :)  ...and for the most part, Go-Bot names are kinda lame/super generic. (i was't a fan during RiD'01 and the UT when we saw a lot of "add '-or' to a common word to = a new Transformer name)

Plus it's kinda fun to dig through some more obscure characters for a decent match.

But i like some of the ideas in this thread, especially Vortex as a classics Blackout (just because i prefer that name to the more generic/Go-Bot-esque Grindor)
G2 Powerdive is another option: Powerdive - Transformers Wiki

as i'm scouring through some more obscure Jets, i think i've landed on G2 Hooligan as a decent fit: Hooligan (G2 - Transformers Wiki)

    Some other possibilities:
    Afterburner (G2 - Transformers Wiki)
PCC Skyhammer: Skyhammer (PCC - Transformers Wiki)
Universe Windsheer (which is a pretty cool name) Wind Sheer (Universe - Transformers Wiki)
G2 AutoJetter (but that name sucks) File:G2AutoJetter.jpg - Transformers Wiki

I would have Alpha Bravo, Off-Road, Rook and Fake-Out (CW Blast-Off) as sleeper agents of Unicron with CW Cyclonus as their handler.
