Woke up at 4:30 am(sadly due to work and its the f'ing weekend!!!) and was bombing around the channel guide.

I found me some original GI Joe(season 1 ep. 50, forgot how huge their seasons were) and Transformers.

It made me smile because I was having after school flash backs and the race to get home and watch them when I was younger..... Don't even get me started about the phone calls when new episodes made it on or a new season started.

Ahhh well, it was just kind of nice to see:D

PS AND DAMN STRAIGHT I'M WATCHING IT:lol

Double PS: I know it was the Hasbro channel or whatever at one point, still a long time since I have seen them both together.

GIJoe is a multiagency task force fighting a terrorist organization. Sounds pretty up-to-date to me.

Those all sound like things you'd need a special ops group to handle.

You forgot: "they fight for freedom wherever there's trouble."

Also, the beginning of the second miniseries starts with an armed military convoy getting ambushed by terrorists in the desert.

    - that defy all laws of physics when it comes to energy and mass
    - that randomly appear yet some are 'trapped here'
    etc etc

Browsing through the guide, looks like they'll be back to the beginning with episode one on Tuesday, February 16th! Also a day or two before will be the Arise, Serpentor, Arise mini-series, one of the best!

I can accept more when there are large talking transforming robots than when it is just humans fighting each other

Yep, I watch it before I go to work, its great! G.I. Joe's dialogue seems a lot cornier than The Transformers.

    YouTube (Legacy):
I've recorded the entire Transformers G1 series due to the fact my family was getting annoyed at me for always waking up so early in the morning just to watch it. Well I guess the bright side of recording the whole series is that I can watch any episode any time I want. As for GI Joe, I only watched it occasionally alongside Jem and the Holograms.

Teletoon Retro kind of burnt out, and was moribund for at least a year before it finally shuttered, though I still miss it. In its heyday, though, it was great for this kind of nostalgic binge watching.

I still enjoy them both, frequently goofy as they may be, and I think they come off a little less stilted or "talk-downy" than some kids cartoons (especially toy cartoons) from the same time.

Though I do miss "the Hub"'s heyday, with a lot of the great '90's cartoons too, like Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, Batman TAS and Batman Beyond. If they could've tucked Gargoyles, Freakazoid, and Beast Wars in there somehow, it would've been my whole 1990s on one channel. :)
