Just got payment request for MP Ironhide from HLJ. After EMS shipping, it would be about 86 dollars. Looks like the yen is rising against the dollar and shipping charges are also higher now. Might have reconsider HLJ as my go to place for MPs now.

Yes my ems shipping for my Nendoroid Kirby was ridiculous. Kinda worried what Laserwaves shipping is going to be.

But what will all the people do when they can't make the "I got that MP from Japan months ago for much cheaper so I'm better then anyone who buys the Toys R Us release" comments?

And yet for me I still think they are amazing.

    MP Ironhide:

    $175NZ shipped from BBTS
    $117NZ shipped from HLJ

Mind you, I've always had to pay a premium to import my MP's, so anything less than $150NZ shipped is a deal for me haha. :(

Mine in Canada with our exchange rate for ironhide at Nippon-Yasan was 131$$. Stupid exchange rate coupled with our dollar doing so poorly

That's not a bad price actually. It's still cheaper than BBTS or TFsource after shipping and you'll get Ironhide a lot quicker since EMS typically only takes a few days get delivered.

I just checked the USD against the Yen, and it comparable to what it was in September/October (about 120 Yen to 1 USD). So where is this coming from?!

Part of it is the crappy exchange rate that paypal gives you. Like you said its about 120 yen to 1 dollar, but paypal, at least for me used 115 yen to 1 dollar as the rate yesterday.

No one should be using paypal's exchange rate. My god. It's extortion. Choose the option of having it billed in the original currency, your bank will charge you a more reasonable conversion.

I tried, lol. Since I have a balance, I couldn't do a direct bank transfer with the local rate.

Looks like the yen is still holding around an average of 120 to $1.

Guess that's why I prefer to order from Amazon, if and where ever possible. Rates get adjusted everyday on product from Japan but at least you know exactly what you're spending instead of hoping that the exchange doesn't change unfavorably at the moment your account gets charged.

I just paid for my MP Ironhide, Armada Thundercracker, and UW Devastator - came out to around $60 EMS, which for those three packaged sounds about right.

Or Thundercracker, Optimus, Streak, Soundwave, Prowl, Grimlock, Starscream.

Just a few that flew under the radar.

Anyways, I was a bit surprised at the price, too. 9530JPY, $78.42, from AmiAmi. I think it's because the last MP I got from them was Tracks, and he was $54 shipped.

I sorta think it also has to do with the shipping price. I looked up MP22 to estimate shipping. When I bought it, shipping was around 25 dollars, now it is almost 50 bucks

They will still have got it months ago. Assuming there is any TRU release at all.

Magnus, Wheeljack, Red Alert, Smokescreen..... You get the idea.

Who knows, it may even go below 30GBP yet.
