The weird thing about forcing a separation is that BW did start out as G1. They're not the same franchise, but BW debuted as a sequel to G1 after G2 flopped. Maximals and Predacons weren't distinct factions, but evolutions of the Autobots and Decepticons.

Megatron went from a pistol to one of the most powerful terrestrial predators on the planet, and Optimus went from a vehicle associated with power to an ape associated with great intelligence.

BW isn't an entirely new continuity, it's a continuation of G1; just like Victory, and yet people don't clamor for an MP Victory thread to be made because of Star Saber's release.

BW, like it or not for them, is as G1 as G1 itself. It started life as a G1 continuation, and it's entire plot is centred on G1 elements and settings.

There's no reason to split the two except to appease the whiny purists who can't stand the idea of Megatron going from a gun to a Tyrannosaurus in the same continuity.

I, myself, am so incredibly excited about this!!! Man, if they go as far as I'm hoping, the idea of a properly sized Terrorsaur next to Megatron, Scorponok, Tarantulas. My god, I'm GIDDY!!!! GIDDY I TELLS YA!! GIDDY!! A MP Inferno??? PLEASE!?! Blackarachnia shaped like a hot striper??? HUBBA HUBBA!! AAROOOOOOOOOO!!! LOLOLOLOLOL!!!! God I hope it does so well to goes into seasons 2 and 3. MP FUZORS!!! FUZORS DAMMIT!!! And a PROPERLY transforming dragon Megatron. DROOOOOOOOLLLLLLL!!!! I know I'm getting ahead of myself, we've only seen the render of primal, and TCracker's hints of Megatron (hopeful given) Cheetor, and Rattrap, but my lawdy I'm actually MORE excited I think for toys than the G1 line..... ok. . Ok ok ok, hyperventilating over for now. GIMME GIMME!!

 

I'm wondering if they might make them with a softer, rubbery plastic for their Beast "skins." Imagine if, say, their ears and tails and whatnot were pliable. I think that would be cool.

 

I think that would ruin the figures over time. People have a problem with rubber tires. Imagine if the skin of their dinobot or Megatron or the tail of Rattrap started to dry out and crack? Lol

 

Yeah I think about different materials being used on transformers from time to time. Like why are magnets never used? To make Dinobot and Terrorsaur look like they did on the show you'd want like leather skins that fold away or mold into a different shape as part of the transformation.

Yeah, I rather just have glossy paint on plastic to give a leather look instead.

 

I grew up on G1, but after seeing the behavior in the MP Speculation thread, I think the G1-only crowd should be the ones to separate. Anyway, I hope the threads get merged, for evil's sake  

I don't know what to speculate about at this point, so I'll go with my two greatest wants: TM Primal and TM Megs. Those are easily my favorite versions of those characters. After all, there's nothing quite like rollerblading royalty and a surfing monkey

The Transmetal era was my favorite as well . I guess just season 2 . I remember getting a fuzors Silverbolt as my very first figure from the line . It was love at first sight ! To have an MP version of him with fold down wings an wing tip / like daggers ?!?! Oh man !!! Wow ! I think I'd go crazy ...

 

Where are we going to post MP BW photo's? MP Appreciation or Beast Wars Appreciation? They are MPs after all..

Anyway cant wait to see megs, cheetor and rattrap if its true. Hope they do TM rattrap some day

 

We post them in the MP Appreciation thread. Just like G1 Masterpiece photos are going there instead of the G1 Appreciation thread.

 

Although I voted for, or rather wasn't against a new thread it does seem rather silly to start one now. TT still haven't confirmed there will be Beast Wars sub line, this thread could end up being all about Primal and we already have one of those.

It's also sad that a small minority of intolerant individuals have forced the Beast Wars chat out of 'thier' thread. The whole thing leaves a bitter taste.

Anyway, it is what it is for now.

 

I don't care if there's one thread or two threads, to hell with it, let's talk about Beast Wars.
I wonder if any talented individuals will make Masterpiece mock up signatures of Beast Wars characters similar to what Cyclonus79 has at the top of this page.

 

I'm kind of looking forward to see Megatron turns out, but TCracker never mentioned a time frame, so who knows if he's a 2016 or 2017 release.

Since when does 2 or 3 people equal a crowd? Still, it's a shame there's not the maturity to keep all the MP speculation in one place.

 

So we have 4 days before more news from TT regarding their 20th Anniversary celebrations. Do we think it will be a reveal of Primal? Confirmation of the sub-line, Megatron, Cheetor and Rattrap? Or something else?

 

Hopefully a conformation of the subline. I'd hate to think this thread was created for nothing

 

lol yup that is my worry. I'm sure TCracker can be trusted, be's been right in the past I understand, but for now all we have is his word.

 

I don't think I can agree about primal being Carbot sized...I think I'd rather have him Ironhide sized. Reason being is that all the smaller characters (and there's a lot) being the same size as MP bumblebee turns me off. That's just too small to get a decently detailed figure of them... I'd rather them be Carbot sized.. If that means we get a few huge figures then so be it. at least the quality of all the characters could be maintained...btw that's not a jab at bumblebee I love him it's just I think the simplicity of his robot design is easier to pull off at his height, where as there isn't much room to play with in Beast Wars as that all the characters had a consistent look per episode per season, without animation flaws...
